I had a look today, at my Amazon orders.I was wondering ,with the release of Bill, in one of the new B & M sets, i wondered if this was still happening.

Apparently, its now got dates, due 8-12 of september.

I wonder if this Figure (if still happening) might be a different hair style from the B and M set. rather than just a different outfit/paint job

100% happening its the exact same figure as the B&M on but with the more iconic top

What i will say from the images i have seen of the B&M one (i don’t have one yet) is that the finish on the Amazon one looks considerably better.

yes they did early last year, I still think Bill was intended as another UT/FP exclusive and because of the demise they needed to find another retailer which they seem to have done.

we know there are 13th Doctor products coming just not exactly what yet.

as i have said before giving up the licence (and i cant see anyone else wanting it anyway) would write off 12 years of investment in all those figures and tooling which amy never see the light of day again.

best to keep it and hope for better times

Latest I heard on this figure was posted on Facebook. “Doctor Who 06690 Bill Potts Action Figure”
    Estimated arrival date: September 14 2018 – October 03 2018.
I have said time and again that one reason sales declined of the figures is that Character seem to release figures too late. It will be a year since Bill left the series. Why not release it when she is still in the show? By the time this comes out we will be focusing on the new series.

    • booboo

      April 4th, 2018 - 8:30am

They did want to release it, but the USA market was swiped away from them and no other retailer wanted it or is big enough to take it on until Amazon stepped in who probably dont want it until the show is back on and all the hype surrounding it, it may even be tied in to other exclusives for all we know.

    • The Outcast

      April 4th, 2018 - 8:42am

Your theory about why Bill is coming so late does make sense, although, it would still lack some sense on Amazon’s part. No characters from Series 10 are going to be in Series 11, so characters like Bill and the Master aren’t going to be too relevant when Series 11 is airing.

I’d love for there to be other exclusives, like a Velvet coat 12, a Series 10 Master and a 2013-2017 Cyberman, but I think they would have been listed earlier.

    • booboo

      April 4th, 2018 - 8:56am

it may also have something to do with production, setting up an entire factory line to produce one figure may not make economic sense, there is also possibly a USA retailer involved who will have their own agenda

there will be a lot going on behind the scenes that we will never be privy to

    • Ian

      April 4th, 2018 - 9:42am

Thanks, but that may not go well for Amazon. I hope any new figures won’t just be Amazon exclusives. Strange others still are reluctant to stock Dr Who toys.

    • The Outcast

      April 4th, 2018 - 9:51am

I doubt the initial Series 11 wave will be an Amazon exclusive, I reckon that will be in all the shops and whether or not everything else will be exclusives (possibly to Amazon, possibly elsewhere (Forbidden Planet)) will depend on how well the Series 11 wave does.

    • booboo

      April 4th, 2018 - 11:01am

I think most retailers will give series 11 stuff a ago, huge hype, new markets all bode well for now.

Some large retailers may want exclusives or exclusive variants, Argos, B&M, Woolworths and toys r us and even Very to an extent have all done this in the past.

Its common knowledge Amazon have been making huge in roads in the toy market and with toys r us gone they may want to capitalize on that but who knows

    • Jordie55555

      April 7th, 2018 - 11:26pm

I agree, series 11 is a complete revamp from the Moffat era. Now is the perfect time to release some new figures and other merchandise

    • WouldYouLikeAJellyBaby?

      April 9th, 2018 - 9:39am

We shall see, it all depends on whether CO are going to release the merchandise as soon as Series 11 has started or whether it will be a case of waiting until early next year. It would be best for them to release merchandise when Series 11 starts because that way they have a bigger guarantee of selling more and appealing to new viewers whereas if they wait for a couple of months the series will have ended and the hype will have died down.

    • The Outcast

      April 9th, 2018 - 10:25am

I think we will get some Series 11 figure stuff this year, though probably only a basic wave of 6 figures consisting of 13, her companions, a Dalek and/or one of the Series villains, along with the new Electronic TARDIS which was leaked. The figures sell well, we could potentially get a few more Series 11 figures next year.

    • WouldYouLikeAJellyBaby?

      April 9th, 2018 - 11:00am

I agree, I reckon we’ll get a basic wave of figures including Thirteen, Yasmin, Ryan, Graham, a Dalek and either another villain or a Regenerated Thirteenth Doctor. It’s also down to how sucessful Series 11 is which will determine how well the figures sell and if they revive interest in the line.

    • 100,000 BC

      April 9th, 2018 - 12:15pm

It’s not even simply down to the success of series 11: it’s down to its success with primary school aged children. They’re the ‘casual buyer’ market for these. It entirely depends on what age group Chibnall’s Who resonates with.

I don’t think they’ll do a 12th Doctor set, because, being realistic, what could you put in it? A repainted 12th Doctor, a re-issue Missy, an O logo Cybus Cyberman? You can’t put in Bill, as then how are you going to sell the standard issue Bill?

      March 19th, 2018 - 9:12am

I have noticed some big price fluctuations on Amazon (enemy of the world SE £19.58 up from £12.99 just today)

all boils down to screen price on the day of despatch, those would ordered at the lower price will still pay that

    • WouldYouLikeAJellyBaby?

      March 19th, 2018 - 9:15am

    • booboo

      March 19th, 2018 - 9:24am

not had any updates but Amazon price can work on sales, there were lots of sales when it first went up but only a few now so that might be why the price has gone up, once images are released and the listing is more prominent sales should go up again so the price may come down

also a lot of people are holding off ordering as so little is known

If it’s still 3 months away from arriving that makes this situation even more strange as normally a product isn’t listed until the supplier has stock, unless it’s on pre-order which in this case it isn’t. Apart from FPI CO don’t have a partner on the high street they can sell it through with Toys R Us’ imminent closure and even if they could we don’t know how well it would sell.

Amazon listings of this type are generally marked temporarily out of stock if there is no fixed delivery date as yet, I have seen many of these before

I think Amazon were offered it, agreed to take it and created a listing in readiness which we happened to have stumbled across.

Not over keen on online exclusives as some core collectors like to see what they are buying (eg to get best paint apps) and it takes the brand off the high street which is sad to see

      better this than nothing though

I’m interested to see how similar the prototype that Pearl tweeted is to the final product as that prototype re-uses the waist and leg section from the Primeval Series 1 Abby figure which could have been replaced with a completely new mould.

So, assuming they start shipping about now, does that mean the Bill figure is due in/around May?
Speaking of Doctor Who figures, has anyone heard anything about a new wave of B&M sets, or is it too early for any info on those?

    • booboo

      February 27th, 2018 - 1:06pm

      to early for B&M

with bill dont even know if its actually gone into production so the timing is impossible to tell

    • WouldYouLikeAJellyBaby?

      February 27th, 2018 - 1:25pm

It would be cool if one of the B&M sets was a Twelfth Doctor set so that way we could get a repainted Twelfth Doctor hoodie variant to resemble the costume he wore in Smile to go alongside Bill, I’m not sure what the other two figures in the set would be bearing in mind they would have to be repaints or re-releases.

    • The Outcast

      February 27th, 2018 - 1:31pm

I don’t know what they could really do for 12 either. Maybe a Legion Cyberman with a proper circle logo and a repainted version of the Black Missy to represent her Magician’s Apprentice/Witches Familiar costume more accurately? I would have said a repainted Dead Planet Dalek, but Daleks can’t fit in B&M sets.

    • WouldYouLikeAJellyBaby?

      February 27th, 2018 - 1:40pm

I would definitely have suggested the Series 9 Missy and Cyberman too, they could do any Twelfth Doctor hoodie variant that hasn’t been released, even a Ghost variant from Under The Lake/Before The Flood but I would prefer his costume from Smile.

I hope with all this new Merchandise coming out when Jodie is on Tele that figures from Series 10 also come out. I am really hoping for the Updated Tenth Planet Cybermen. They should do 5 inch Series 10 Figure Box Sets.
    For Example:
    The Pilot-Bill(In Pilot/World Enough
    Costume)
    Heather(as pilot)
    12th Doctor(Episode Costume)
    Nardole

    Smile-Bill(Episode Costume)
    2 Emojibots
Empress of Mars-Irraxa and 2 Ice Warriors

World Enough and Time-Bill In Hospital gown with Drip, 2 Patients(removable costume parts to show evolution stages) Jorj and Mr Razor/The Master. Headset accessory.

    The Doctor Falls-The Mondasian Cybermen:
    Updated Tenth Planet Cyberman
    2011 Legion Cyberman
    Weapons Grade 2013 Cyberman

The 3 Timelords-The Doctor, Missy and The Master
    Individual Figures:
    Bill(Smile Costume)Coming out soon
The 12 Doctor(World Enough and Time/The Doctor Falls Costume)
    Updated Tenth Planet Cyberman

Given how the legion cybermen have already been released, once with the cybus logo and once without, I don’t think CO will be bothered to make them again. The same for the tenth planet cybermen. However, I would like to see re releases and some new series ice warriors would be nice in the 5” range

    • The Outcast

      February 25th, 2018 - 9:43am

Jordie55555 I completely disagree on your sentiments on the Legion Cyberman. I think Character Options would make one, especially because the original O logo Cyberman didn’t have the 3D O logo, is hard to get and would be cheap as to make. If they were to make a set containing a new Mondasian and 2013 Cyberman, they could easily put it in to save money.

      February 25th, 2018 - 10:10am

That would depend soley on what CO plans to release this year as a Thirteenth Doctor figure or a wave of Series 11 figures is guaranteed, but I doubt we’ll see any other figures released alongside Bill. I think as booboo has said this is the figure that was in production before the UT situation so I think it’s unlikely that any other figures were being produced at the time. I think the only way we’ll see any other characters from Series 10 produced is if CO re-visit the series if the relaunch for Series 11 is sucessful and that way we could see some more characters get released.

I wonder if Nardole will be the new Rory. 😉

    • The Outcast

      February 27th, 2018 - 8:13am

Nothing can be the new Rory, seeing as Rory was made during a time where they made pretty much every major character into a figure.

    • DoctorSong2016

      February 27th, 2018 - 11:43am

Even though they hadn’t actually made the figure until he left/was leaving the show and then it took forever for them to release him after that.

Yeah but even if you are not a prime member and have the pay postage, it no more expensive than Forbidden Planet as they always slapped on a postage charge too. TRU were a nightmare in terms of being able to order online….and lets not even talk about B&M.

yes, but cant really get all the facts yet, its most likely (but not confirmed as ) an Amazon exclusive (the listing is genuine)

the listing is live because stock is expected “soon” but in Amazon terms that could still mean weeks yet

Being the #1 seller may well inspire Amazon to ask for more exclusive figures.

    • booboo

long way to go yet, but when full PR is behind it as long people order who knows

the wider public have no idea about this figure yet and even those who do are hesitating to order because of lack of solid info

    • The Legend Doctor

      February 21st, 2018 - 12:49pm

Yep, It would be great to see a whole wave of Figures regarding Series 11 for Jodie! So maybe:

The Thirteenth Doctor Twin Pack (In Twelfth Doctor Outfit and Her Outfit)
      Ryan
      Yasmin
      Graham
Dalek (Re Release with New Paint Designs?)
      Cyberman (NIS Edition)

      Merchandise (Non Figures)

      The Thirteenth Doctor’s Sonic Screwdriver
Re-Release of The Masters Laser Screwdriver

    • The Outcast

      February 21st, 2018 - 12:54pm

Definitely. I’ve love to have a regenerated 13th Doctor figure by Series 11 episode 1.

    • The Outcast

      February 21st, 2018 - 1:01pm

Oh, I didn’t see the other comment, it must have been posted just before I posted mine.

As for a Series 11 wave of figures, I’d like to see:
      Graham
      Yasmin
      Ryan
      Dalek?
      Monster
      Villain

      Sets:
13th Doctor set (Regenerated and Normal outfits, like the 11th Doctor crash set)*
      The new TARDIS

*If a regenerated 13th Doctor is released beforehand, just release the standard 13th Doctor figure on it’s own

      Other Toys:
      13th Doctor Sonic Screwdriver
Whatever else they can think of

  • The Outcast

    February 21st, 2018 - 12:05pm

I do wonder if anything else will come alongside this figure. A re-release Laser Screwdriver would be cool and wouldn’t cost much to do. The Master did use it in Series 10.

No, at this stage it looks as if Amazon UK is only taking orders for UK & Ireland only delivery addresses. If you try and enter a delivery address outside the UK it comes up with a “there is a problem with your address, sorry we cannot fulfil this order at this time” type message.
