Silhouette: A 12th Doctor Novel Audio CD

silhocdSilhouette: A 12th Doctor Novel Audio CD

BBC Physical Audio (18 Dec 2014)

An unabridged reading of the new novel by Justin Richards featuring the Twelfth Doctor, as played by Peter Capaldi in the hit BBCTV series Doctor Who. Marlowe Hapworth is found dead in his locked study, killed by an unknown assailant. This is a case for the Great Detective, Madame Vastra.

Rick Bellamy, bare-knuckle boxer, has the life drawn out of him by a figure dressed as an undertaker. This angers Strax the Sontaran. The Carnival of Curiosities, a collection of bizarre and fascinating sideshows and performers. This is where Jenny Flint looks for answers.

How are these things connected? And what does Orestes Milton, rich industrialist, have to do with it all? As the Doctor and Clara joint the hunt for the truth they find themselves thrust into a world where nothing and no one is what they seem.

Reading produced by Neil Gardner.

Sound design by Simon Hunt.

Executive producer: Michael Stevens.

Read by Dan Starkey! Now – I’ve read the book, it’s one if the best Who novels I have ever had the pleasure to read, and I’d love to hear Mr Strax read it! I may get this,I mmay not… but honestly – Silhouette is an amazing tale with fantastic twists and turns so everyone should read/listen to it!

Fingers crossed they get Neve McIntosh to read this one. I loved her work on Dark Horizons and I’m looking forward to how she portrays Capaldi (and Strax, for that matter!). That said, the synopsis suggests Strax may take centre stage, so it’ll more likely be read by Dan Starkey which is OK by me too.
