The old days, hey. Only got into these in to these figures in 2008, and have loved them since, until the eleventh doctors Tardis interior was released.

My first Doctor Who toy was (I think!) the Dalek with reveal mutant. I still have it to this day and it is one of my favourites.

My first ever doctor who toy was the doomsday set for my birth day even though i didn’t like doctor who back then, but when matt smith came, i brought a numerous number of figures.

My first set was the utopia set. It was rubbish, but it still holds a special place on my shelf, of fame.

Just got the Woolworth’s exclusive Cpt Jack with Cap figure off Ebay. I’ve been wanting it for years! Only wanted the Cap but £9 isn’t bad considering it’s a rare accessory and the figures itself is better quality than mine.

Booboo, you know some S1 Daleks had painted eye stalks and some didn’t…Well why was that?

Was it to do with what wave they were released in?

Because on your picture, the Assault Dalek has no Blue eye, Yet the one i have (Standard wave releas) has a blue Eye.

Sorry to jump in Booboo, but I believe the answer was because at the time there was more than one Character Options facility/site making these parts. Similar variations occur because of this on other figures.

      April 29th, 2012 - 10:10am

Thanks. I thaught it was because some Assault Daleks were released single, and other in like 6 figure gift sets. But then remembered that Assault Daleks were not released in any sets.

Well, it could be that too. Batch runs should be consistent, but when they make another batch, say 12 months later, it is susceptible to differences in the hand painting aspects.

Sometimes you get differences in the actual colour of the whole item, and this is because one or more components of the raw materials are from a different master batch. It is quite common with polypropylene (PP) and therefore all plastics so some extent.
