Underground Toys are pleased to announce details of their 2010 San Diego Comic Con exclusive Doctor Who item – The Eleventh Doctor with Dalek Scientist.
The Eleventh Doctor saw off not one but two alien threats almost as soon as he crashed to Earth. His new companion, Amy Pond, first met him when she was seven years old, and while he was clad in the raggedy remnants of the Tenth Doctor’s suit. Twelve years and four psychiatrists later, the girl who waited wanted answers! Realising he owed her that much, the Doctor, now clothed in a tweed jacket and a cool new bow tie, welcomed Amy into a brand new TARDIS, and took off on a series of thrilling adventures around the universe. However the two time travellers are being followed on their journey by a crack which appears wherever they go… and it looks a lot like the one on Amy’s bedroom wall…
Many years ago, the Daleks sent out thousands of egg-shaped Progenitors containing the genetic coding of the race, so that new Daleks could be created whenever necessary. One of these Progenitors was found in war-torn England during the Second World War and transported to a Dalek ship. However, because the Daleks that found it had been genetically modified by their creator Davros, using his own DNA, the Progenitor did not acknowledge them as pure Daleks, until the Doctor identified them as such and the Progenitor created a new race of powerful Daleks as a result. Amongst these Daleks were the Orange Scientists.
In this exclusive set from Underground Toys we present the Eleventh Doctor in burgundy shirt and braces, and an Orange Dalek Scientist, the Doctor comes with a Sonic Screwdriver accessory.

I emailed Forbidden Planet International, this is what they said: “Unfortunately this is currently awaiting restocks. This is due to arrive on or around 12th September. We had very limited stock of this item. As soon as we receive these stocks we will process and despatch your order. My one came today! At around 8:55AM! But now I’ve got the dilemma of should I open it or not! PupBenny, to any sain person, that should be a no-brainer, just as long as you take care of it and dont accidentally drop it of the table onto the wooden floor. I was able to exchange my £79.99 orange dalek scientist and 11th doctor thank god. I got myself a 4th doctor with tardis, 1st doctor with tardis and paid a little bit extra for a 4th doctor with tardis panel. So pleased as £26.99 is a huge drop in price from that.

i live in worksop so there are no fp stores, lucky for me there is a toys r us in sheffiled If you can get to Sheffield there is a Forbidden Planet there. There is also a store called The Last Picture Show in Meadowhall that sells lots of Who stuff.

I’M SO ANNOYED! I ordered mine at 10:15 on the 18th of August. And it still hasn’t been dispatched by Forbidden Planet International! Also, I pre-ordered the Strategist Dalek figure a few weeks ago. It recently came in stock on Forbidden Planet, but they didn’t dispatch one to me! It’s not out of stock, and they have no idea when they’re getting it back in. I’m pulling my hair out!

But which one? Its personal choice but if were me it would be Delgado/Axon as this may be the only way to get these. i’m sure we will see an orange Dalek at some stage but costless doctor may stay exclusive to this set.

how many of these sets were actually made? I don’t know but its usually about between 1500- 3000, it seems FP.com have sold their entire allocation of the 1st and 2nd delivery so they cant supply anymore. FP.co.uk still have some available from the next delivery and some shops have them but i don’t think they are going to last long

I’ve got an idea! (Another one today! Lol! First my one about the dalek strategist figure and now this one!) I bet customising one of these sets to make it like the fake eternal and blue tie and shirt and brown boots 11th doctor would make alot of money! I bet without customising it it would make alot of money! In fact if you replace the eternal custom with a supreme custom! Now I bet that would make ALOT of money!

The price is definitely £26.99, is far as i can see UT will supply USA and FP the UK. Both sites will have things set up ready to go and they just need to “hit the Button” to go live presumably at 10.00am. What do you think booboo? I think they will be released eventually, i just depends on how long you are prepared to wait if you want that orange Dalek and they will gain high prices on ebay in the mean time but those values will go down once they are released individually or as part of another set. i have noticed since the 11 doctors set the original releases of the 1st,2nd and 3rd doctors are going for much less now

Booboo you have nearly everything doctor who related! But if any of you that are out their and you are collectors and keep your new daleks in packagine be aware!!!! Taking the orange dalek out of the packaging and keeping the doctor in may be a bit tricky if you dont have cellotape.

The doctor without the jacket looks cool because you can do the episode flesh and stone when the weeping angel caught the doctor and the doctor escaped by slipping out of his coat. And of course you can play victory of the daleks with the colur daleks unless your one of them collectors who keep their toys in the packaging! I dont mind if you keep the drone dalek or any of the new daleks in teir packaging. Sorry to people who keep figures in their packaging but i have a very diffrent opinion and think these new who figures are amazing!

In reply to GEO – Character Options has the licence to do figures-it is upto CO which figures they do and how.CO where approached by 2 companies (one in USA, one in UK) who then asked them to produce figures for them. That is why there are US and FP ‘exclusives’.The BBC has no control as to what is released where as CO is a seperate, licenced business.That is also why CO cannot release certain figures until after the exclusive contract has finished which is 2 years.Thats why 5th Dr with celery has now just appeared as a CO release in the UK.

I’m glad you folks back in Jolly Olde are getting a crack at these now! From what I understand the BBC proper reversed what I understand was a decision on the part of BBC America here to get you guys this (I imagine enough of you sent in letters, emails, tweets, &c.). At this point, those of us int he US still can’t get them if we weren’t among those few who made SDCC so I’m rather hoping that a few Yanks like yours truly will be allowed an opportunity to order one via UT or maybe FP (FP sometimes is barred from selling to us in the US).

One last thing, from what I understand the reason why this SDCC exclusive is so exclusive is because BBC America co-funded this set, so they had a say in quantities and what to do with any leftovers from SDCC. That’s different from previous exclusives (i.e., the 1st Doc/Dalek & 2d Doc/Cyberman last year, the Regen Davison & Davison Doc/Master this year). I imagine CO would have produced more of these sets & released the leftovers through the usual outlets, or would have split the supply between SDCC & FP had BBC America not said otherwise.

Just for clarity’s sake, I’m not keen on these exclusives either–not SDCC (which for those who don’t know is a major convention held once a year over a long weekend in San Diego), not Toys-R-Us, et al. Seems to me from reading here, as well as on US boards, the general consensus is UT/CO wind up alienating their customers so that some few lucky souls with the funds can pick up and wave a coveted toy in our faces. If I’m not mistaken (& I checked with cousins in Bognor Regis & Streatham) you get Star Trek & X-Files there, as well as the Star Wars films, &c. Booboo’s right–without the overseas sales (to the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, 45 other countries beyond the UK) I somehow and sincerely doubt that BBC or BBC Wales could produce Doctor Who, at least in the quality presented. No use crying over spilled milk. You have more toys, DVDs, &c. than we do. Besides, I coulda swore Dr Who wouldn’t have come back without funds from CBC.

By the way, while the UK surely has a stronger connection to the Doctor, those fans of the Doctor here do contribute. DVDs, toys, &c. all cost more here, and a good % of that $ goes back to the BBC. Many of us my age grew up watching the Doctor on our local PBS stations which we supported with our hard earned lawn-mowing and snow-shoveling money. I know you have your TV licenses over there, but when paid you can watch the Doctor when on, no? Dr Who is expensive for our PBS stations & BBC America isn’t on all cable services either. I’m here in the western US as it happens, and I did not get a Matt sans jacket/Orange Dalek. San Diego’s “just down the road” from me (a few 100 miles). There was no way I could get there, and there’s few folks I know who could or did. I’m disappointed just like those of you in the UK & Australia. Its not the 1st time. We here in the US did not get the Planet of Mars Tom or the Blue shirt/bowtie Matt. I’m sure they’ll be released in some form soon enough for all of us though. Calls for a little patience, no? Australia gets no exclusives because Doctor who is BRITISH sci-fi, they are forbidden planet exclusives and no forbidden planets in australia and some of them are SDCC ecxclusives and SDCC isnt held in australia, so basically thats why and to be honest america houldnt have gotten this exclusive or any exclusive, so happy

Calm down everyone! Of course this Zippy from Rainbow Dalek will be out in the UK. It just wont have this version of the 11th Doctor with it. You will be able to buy it for £8.99 like the red renault megane one – they are releasing all the TeletubbyDaleks in the UK – and I bet you there will be a teletubby set sometime too.

Shouldn’t be a comic con exclusive ’cause i really really want a no Tweed Jacket 11th Doctor In red and blue. Also character options should make a dalek 5 pack including Dalek Supreme(White), Dalek Sientist(Orange), Dalek Stragagist(Blue), Dalek Drone(Red) and Internal Dalek(Yellow) but now im annoyed ’cause they’re only making supreme, drone (mabey getting tommorw But I do reckon it’s quite cool they went into all the trouble to make these new Daleks ) and sientist (comic con exclusive).
