Thanks Doctor Who Crazy Ross, I’ll look in WH Smith at the weekend. I’ll hopefully be able to find the new CB Micro-Figures somewhere too; fingers crossed!

I went out to get this the day it came out. The features about all of the unmade stories are really interesting, although I was very dissapointed by the four-page feature for the Thirteenth Floor. The other episodes had really detailed plot summaries, but the thirteenth floor had practically nothing. And all because RTD wants to use the idea for an episode of Wizards vs Aliens. A brilliant mag apart from that, but they should appreciated that not all of the readership of DWM Special Editions will want to watch Wizards vs Aliens.

      August 18th, 2012 - 10:44pm

Wasn’t on a spoiler site. I was looking through the comments on the new Who teaser, then SJA popped up, then the special was mentioned and someone spoiled the stories… 😡

    • booboo

      August 18th, 2012 - 10:48pm

that is a spoiler site, people post what they have read on there anywhere without thinking, get it in the merchandise all the time and it ruins things for people

      August 19th, 2012 - 11:36am

Other merchandise for The Sarah Jane Adventures didn’t perform too well, such as the toys. Compared to Doctor Who Adventures, the market for an ongoing Sarah Jane Adventures magazine is much smaller, even if every child on here would want it as a magazine.

    • Give me a Dalek any day

      August 18th, 2012 - 9:10am

I haven’t read about it yet but the title was “The Battle of Bannerman Road”
I suspect it should be good since it was, I assume, supposed to tie up the planned Series 5 story arc.
As I said, I’m not on that bit yet. I’m currently on “Meet Mr Smith” 🙂

      August 18th, 2012 - 10:05am

Give me A Dalek Any day, now I want this! Is it good? I suppose it has lots of info on the unfilmed episodes of Series 5? 🙂

    • Give me a Dalek any day

      August 18th, 2012 - 10:50am

Yes, it covers the first three stories of Series 5 (Sky, The Curse of Clyde Langer and The Man Who Never Was) which give you an insight into the making of the story and other behind the scenes stuff. Then, it covers the three unmade stories for Series 5 (Meet Mr Smith, The Thirteenth Floor and The Battle of Bannerman Road) which give you an insight into what the story was going to be about etc. There’s a whole lot more inside as well including the unmade stories for Series 4! 😀

got it today, its ok but shame threy didnt make the rest of the episodes & since when were they thinking of making an Xmas special, a live halloween special, an animated halloween special & a series 6.

    • Give me a Dalek any day

      August 18th, 2012 - 1:49pm

They weren’t. If you read on, you’ll discover the Halloween specials were originally dropped in favour of the animated one. The Christmas special was only an orignal idea, which was of course dropped.

    • Dinosaurs on a spaceship

    • Give me a Dalek any day

    WOW!

This arrived this morning (subs copy) and I am amazed at the level of love and care and detail that has gone into making this a fine and fitting tribute to Elizabeth Sladen and the whole team on SJA

I skipped the first three stories (will catch up later) and am reading Part one and two of one of the missing stories.

There are full storylines and the usual connections and background ,on three full stories plus a bonuc section with the Lost adventures . A full list and synopsis for all the stories thought up, written up or just sketched up that never got made

plus all lavishly illustrated by the wonderful Adrian Salmon with many pieces of Artwork for each story.

Lovely lovely pice of work congrats to all involved and especialy mr Andrew Pixley
