    August 31st, 2016 - 7:32pm

How did you make the raggedy tenth doctor?
Ive wanted to make one but I don’t know how to swap the heads
    Many thanks !

      August 31st, 2016 - 9:05pm

Soak a 10th Doctor in boilng water aswell as a Raggedy 11 and that softens the parts up then bring them out and set them on a towel then pop the head off 10 and pop it on 11 once you have popped off 11’s (I think thats how you do it)

    • Rooners

      July 14th, 2016 - 3:22pm

Its just a rubber snake – it’s one of my kids, I think it cost 99p.

Is the tweed guy in the fourteenth photo meant to be the dream Lord?

  • Anonymous

    February 27th, 2016 - 10:36pm

Is the tweed guy in the fourteenth photo meant to be the dream Lord, or someone else? I know it’s an 11 figure, but the head looks different

      February 28th, 2016 - 12:00pm

Yeah…the photo is a celebration of 10 years of “new” Who with all the Doctors we have seen under Davies and Moffat (inc the return of the 8th Doctor). I also included variations of the Doctor at the back with the Curator, the Dream Lord and the Meta Crisis 10th Doctor.

The Dream Lord has the torso of the 11th Doctor (Jacket painted grey and shirt painted in strips) with the legs and head of Prof Bracewell (Glasses removed and hair repainted).

The Meta Doctor was a blue suit 10th Doctor with the shirt removed and a brown t-shirt painted in.

There is even a custom battle damaged 8th Doctor/War Doctor TARDIS.

Rooners, stunning pictures, what effects/apps/ programs do you use?

    • Rooners

      November 16th, 2015 - 12:44pm

Thank you. I use iPiccy for the core editing. It is a web based tool. For fog effects etc I use an app called FX.

Always good for a look Rooners… Didn’t you get the Chase set or the Drashig glove puppet ? Plenty of material for quite a few snaps with the Mechonoids…..

    • Rooners

      April 20th, 2015 - 4:34pm

Oh, yes…I have them. I took a very simple Mechonoid shot via instagram (which is also posted on my Flickr page) but as yet, I’ve not got around to taking a shot of the Drashig or the Chase Daleks.

    Wow! These are great!
At my school we have this art project thing where we choose an art (music, drama, art etc.) and I chose photography as I was inspired by these epic shots.
Can’t wait to see more! 😀

Can you take a picture of your 12th doctor custom figure

    • Rooners

      April 4th, 2015 - 11:36pm

It’s not a custom…I cheated…I had the 9th Doctor take centre stage, covering most of the 12th Doctor and then altered the shirt and removed the waistcoat of the 12th Doctor’s regeneration outfit in post processing. I felt it was justified to get a true 10 year anniversary shot 😉

AMAZING SO TOTALLY AMAZING These photos are what I dream of. After spending the day fixing new figures repainting scratches and taking joints and slightly melting them, remoulding and making tight these photos have inspired my next kids home school upcycle art workshop. I’m gonna experiment now and see what the kids come up with.

    • Rooners

      February 26th, 2015 - 1:06pm

      Thank you very much.

To be honest, a lot is trial and error…I’m self taught in terms of photography but after a while, you learn what works and what doesn’t. That is part of the fun – anyone can do it…all you need is imagination and a bit of patience 🙂

Do you repaint your figures ?? That Ice Warrior is the 3.75 figure is it ?? Its far better than any Ive seen or does ‘photoshopping’ work for Martians too 😀

    • Rooners

      February 15th, 2015 - 3:34pm

The Ice Warrior is an Eaglemoss figurine too so no post colouring needed.

  • VespiformsSting

    February 15th, 2015 - 12:50pm

Is that the Eaglemoss John Hurt ?? If so its a really good one as is your eccleston if theats the eaglemoss one confronting the slitheen….

I like the end of ep 1 of Carnival of Monsters reconstruction thats a good one….

    In all quality stuff…..

    • Rooners

      February 15th, 2015 - 3:32pm

Many thanks. Yes, both the War and 9th Doctor with Slitheen and Dalek are Eaglemoss figurines.

You Are The Best Toy Photographer EVER!!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM!!!

    • Rooners

      October 23rd, 2014 - 11:05am

That is very kind of you…but I would encourage you to check out the Toy Photographer community on Flickr…then you will realise just how good people can be.

I’m self taught and I am forever picking tips up from other Toy Photographers on Flickr to improve my photos, but Im still a long way off their standards…it may be a geeky hobby but those geeks are GOOD!

    • TheWhovianVortex

      October 23rd, 2014 - 11:34am
