Anybody else noticed that Eaglemoss and Robert Harrop seem to make the same characters at the same time?
Both companies released a Tetrap at the same time, and an Alpha Centauri, and now the Mandrel?

Either way, this still looks decent. I love the base especially.

Yes, this comes up all the time (normally with a lot of complaints for some reason).

The BBC pushes certain characters and monsters and that’s why we get duplication in short time frames. Same thing happens with Warlord as well.

I’m not so sure it’s the BBC promoting or asking licensees to focus on particular characters at a particular time, so much as (I’d speculate) Eaglemoss being quite shrewd in their commercial planning. Most of the Harrop editions are in such small numbers they sell out very quickly indeed – if I was EM, I’d have my 1:21 scale £8.99 version out around the same time or shortly after to catch a few casual sales from people who maybe fancied a replica of a favourite monster/character and had maybe missed out on getting a Harrop version. Not quite the same, and a different scale, quality and price, but for some, better than nothing perhaps…

I heard Eaglemoss mention the Mandrel before Robert Harrop mention it, but that doesn’t mean it’s not possible of course, but who knows?

Aren,t they doing Azal or the axons after this? Either way the monsters from this collection are superior by far.

I would expect the Harrop figures to be superior for the price they cost.

wow…he is gorgeous. Would have been funny if you could have seen the actors eyes through the mouth (like they did on the Nightmare of Eden DVD cover). Is this the first ever Mandrel figure of any kind?
