First image of Mike’s progress with the Tomb of the Cybermen series. He’s nearing completion on a Tomb Cyberman and Cyber-Controller Tomb Door, so next up will be the Cyber-Controller himself and then Cybermats.

£85-90 for this piece excluding Friends of Harrop Discount. Hope this isn,t a trend. I can appreciate the difficulty creating some of these figurines but i hope they keep the price at a level otherwise it may just put me off future purchases.

I some what expected the price to be within that range – this figurine requires other materials such as the translucent casing, wires and pewter components for the hand/eyes. Not to mention the process of having to paint the brain first, waiting for it to dry and fitting all of the appendages in and around it then painting the entire figurine. I imagine it’s a long winded process that requires a lot of skills. I personally believe it’s a fair price – I wouldn’t hesitate purchasing it if you want it, given Omega selling out within 4 days on pre order.

I,ll be buying this no fear and i understand the complexities of creating such a fine piece as you say with the amount of time and effort and the cost of the pewter. I,m just saying i hope they keep the prices down to the £ 70-75 mark for other future pieces that don,t need these additions.

I think they’ll follow a trend of making an “enhanced” ( shall we say ) piece once a year – take last year, all of the pieces were given the £65 price tag however the Special Weapons Dalek was put out at £95 which was not only down to the size but also featuring the rotating turret.

I completly forgot about that. As long as they limit it to once a year thats fine and as long as they have this kind of loyal following its as well they don,t try to overprice themselves. Unless of course they release a 100 limited edition piece in the vein of the cyberleader.

I personally think, for what they are, the price is very reasonable and i wonder how they make much profit on them at all. Especially with the 10% members discount and if people pay with paypal that’s even less profit I would gladly pay more to support them. No profit= no future figures.

I prefer Robert Harrop, when they make interesting monsters from the classic series. Why couldn’t they make Azal, Ancient Hamevore, Destroyer, Tractator etc?

They really go to town with these but i did think that the cyberdoor would have included the cybermats, not separate pieces. Thats nearly £300 touch if standard price. These are so desirable but costly, and no doubt they will sell out in next to no time..

I think the door is very similar to the ‘plaques’ Harrops put out with most of their series…have to wait to see how much it is…..If you dont want to pay quite so much for Harrops items join the friends of Harrops on facebox. Assuming a full usual price of 65 quid per item it only touches 260 not 300….

I,m with friends of harrop supposedly but its gonna be £280 with postage added for all four items. I love these pieces so i will unbegrudgingly pay out.

Any timescales known? Assuming Morbius will be next month sometime then the ‘Tomb’ figures no sooner than end of August? Based on the nearing completion/still sculpting stage of the pieces. Then there’s the test painting then approvals needed. Full colour, monochrome or both?

Hopefully they’ll release no more than 2 pieces per month, my wallet can’t take the strain, but just in case I’ll need to start saving up now for the full set.

I’m also wondering what the edition size will be, recent figures sold out almost immediately and there’s a lot more interest in these ones.

I believe Morbius is sometime at the end of June for preorder.. I,m not sure about the cyberdoor. I thought they would make one very limited edition like they did with the Cyberleader and limit to 100, since 4 pieces seem to be released back to back. I should imagine one per month. Its a costly affair for sure.
