You might be interested to know I’ve just interviewed Keith Barnfather of Reeltime Pictures for the magazine Infinity. We discussed both Myth Makers and the standalone dramas.

2: If they are, did they ever do a lie bowerman myth maker?

They are repackaged myth makers and no, lisa bowerman hasn’t been interviewed as far as i know. So this is either a new interview or something else she took part in.

Isn’t that the one that’s been included on the German Seventh Doctor Years Boxset?

No, the new interview on that was Andrew Cartmel (script editor of the time). That’s not on here and the new Bowerman one isn’t in the German set as they were made by different companies.

Lisa Bowerman was interviewed earlier this year by Sophie Aldred. A version of that Myth Makers release is included on the McCoy compilation, released two weeks ago.

Hmmm. Bit much to call it mccoy years, 2 actors who only appear in one story each and one who was in one story playing a cat and then became an audio companion. Seems a bit like they were looking for any link to fill in the discs. Not going to bother.

There is also a 2002 interview with Andrew Cartmel, who was story editor throughout Sylvester McCoy’s run.

Sylvester McCoy is such an underrated Doctor. Some classic stories from his short time as the 7th Dr. Remembrance of the Daleks, The Greatest Show in the Galaxy, Ghost Light, The Curse of Fenric and Survival are superb stories.

Absolutely….some of the very best stories…it was a great shame it all ended when it did…as Cartmel was creating something very special..

Under Cartmel, Doctor Who was going into the 90’s in style. It’s a pity it was cut short by a short sited BBC. But had Doctor Who continued into the early 90’s, the BBC would have to have spent on it.

I wish they would release the original Doctors years and Monster years on DVD, those documentaries were very good. I especially liked The Tom Baker Years with Tom reviewing all his stories and viewing clips from each.

Me too. For me the best one was Daleks, the early years. It was my favorite thing in the world.

Give it time, if there’s money to be made, they probably will.

Filling the gaps with doctors 5 and 7 would be welcome.

Didn’t license issues in the mid 1990’s scupper these two being made? I read (somewhere) that JNT was working on The Davison Years before it was abandoned.

The Peter Davison Years VHS may have never been released because of Eric Saward, who is famous for being really over-protective of his Doctor Who stuff, which is why we don’t have a Resurrection or Revelation of the Daleks novelisation. But there is always hope

I would like to see the original BBC Doctors Years given a DVD release, utilising the VHS master tapes with maybe clips and the like that have been rediscovered since the original releases as bonus material.
