Paint Your Own Pottery Doctor Who Daleks

Paint Your Own Pottery Doctor Who Daleks

This is one piece of Doctor Who merchandise that you wont generally find in the shops.

The Paint your own Daleks are fully licensed pottery replicas or “Bisque’s” of one of the most iconic enemies from Doctor Who. Each item comes with a certificate of authenticity.

These have been available for a few months but as they are not a retail product you may now know about them.

So what’s the idea?

Many towns now have paint your own pottery studio or café’s (you will need to check that they stock these items) where you choose your particular favourite and paint it to your own design. There is generally a fixed charge for each item which includes paint and studio time.

You then leave you finished piece which is then “fired” and picked a few days later. You now have your own unique glazed creation. Most studios can cater for individuals without prior booking however if you wish to hold a “paint party” (what a great way to celebrate a birthday with your fellow fans) you will need to pre book. Some studios even cater for food or if big enough, in home or at work events.

The Dalek Brush / pencil holder shown as supplied with its certificate of authenticity, eye stalk, gun and plunder ready to be fitted after painting and glazing. This Dalek has a large section cut out of the back for storage and its bigger than the money bank Dalek…

The two unpainted Daleks with supplied accessories fitted. We have yet to have a go at painting these…

The Daleks are part of three items currently available in this range, the other one being a Tardis coin bank. All three unpainted examples are shown below…

Not yet. I’m going to do a run tomorrow to see what’s available in store atm… I live in a remote area so we tend to get things a bit late… but I’ll have a hunt around in the collector’s shops. 😀

I raided my collector’s shop storeroom today (literally… they just got them in and hadn’t put them on the shelf yet lol) and they had the Chase Set, Enemies of the Third Doctor and Enemies Of The 1st Doctor sets.

They only had 1-2 of each… so avaiablity seems limited… but that’s all I’ve seen thus far.
