Great figures. Does anyone here think it would be possible for eaglemoss to find some sort of way to suspend figures so we could have special ‘flying’ figures such as a reaper and the vespiform

They have clear plastic stands for their star trek ships so its possible. I would love a vesperform figure!

Loving Chantho and that Auton. Little strange how they waited so long to do one, so glad they are finally doing it. Can’t wait to find out what the next ones are after sixty!

Chantho looks better than I expected, which good. The Auton looks as expected – and not just because I’ve already seen that one.

So, as we suspected, “sweet, but meets an unfortunate end” + “insect woman” = Chantho. So, I wonder when we’ll get to see pics of the Sensorite and Cyberman?

I know! I’m just looking forward to Christmas when I can catch up on the few issues I’ve missed. It’s a bit of a hit or miss with my local newsagents, which is annoying because this collection is getting better and better too. Wonder if 65 will be a dalek too….guess time will tell.

Well the Paradigm Dalek (“has got the hump”, according to Ben Robinson) is somewhere between 61 and 65, most likely towards the 63-65 end. The Daleks aren’t evenly spaced out, sometimes there’s massive gaps between them, other times they’re practically squeezed together.

I reckon it’s either drone (red) or supreme (white). I’m looking forward to seeing how this works out though.

I agree. I’d prefer orange or blue, but it’ll be red or white. Will be quite a decent-sized regular figurine too.

Defiantly. Those Daleks are pretty bulky. Do you think there’s any chance we will see a Scovox Blitzer after the Foretold? Or are they done with the series 8 figurines for now? Just think it’d be an interesting one to have, along with Missy of cause!

    • The Werewolf

      August 22nd, 2015 - 12:33pm

Judging by the release pattern, if they were doing the Skovox Blitzer, it would be roughly where Dalek Sec Hybrid appears (57), all Series 8 figurines are done in chronological order, with longer gaps between them if they skip an episode. Since we know the Skovox doesn’t appear by issue 65, it’s unlikely to be included, unless they change their minds of course. (Missy of course will be waiting until they’re run out of Doctors, and may be done from Series 9 or 8.)
I like the Skovox Blitzer and would love a figurine, but I think it’s pretty unlikely now.

      August 23rd, 2015 - 7:31pm

      That’s a shame. I would love a Blitzer.

      August 24th, 2015 - 9:39pm

It may still happen, it’s just as likely as any other figure.

    • The Werewolf

      August 24th, 2015 - 11:38pm

We can be fairly sure that some figurines are more likely than others. For example, even though it hasn’t been announced, we can be sure there will be a Second Doctor figure, and we can be fairly certain that they will do at least 5 more Master (Delgado, Ainley, Jacobi, Simm and Gomez), and we can be fairly sure that, say, a Mechanoid special will probably not be released. Some things are just inherently more or less likely than others.

That said, they could do the Skovox Blitzer, but if they do, it will only be because they change their minds at a later date because the release pattern of Series 8 figures including future ones indicates otherwise. I’m not saying that some of the stuff isn’t sporadic – the Daleks for instance, or the fact that they sped up the Doctors etc, but Series 8 has a fairly consistent order which indicates that, for now at least, they’ve decided the Skovox isn’t likely. For example, if Series 9 does not produce enough monsters that Eaglemoss deam figure-worthy, then the Skovox may be put into one of those slots instead.

Oh, and please forgive me for the rather long post.

I hope it doesn’t go more than 120. But I love this collection all the same, including these new sculpts. The improved Supreme Council Dalek in particular.

Why would you want it to stop at 120? There’s plenty of characters they can release, and more will come over time.

      July 20th, 2015 - 11:14am

Because of real world concerns: take up space/cost money. And so that they don’t do any companions or repeat Doctors.

    • Anonymous

      July 20th, 2015 - 5:08pm

They aren’t going to repeat Doctors, they’ve already made that clear.

And what’s wrong with companions? I could have understood concerns when people were complaining about likenesses but everyone is agreeing that they are improving considerably as time goes on.

    • The Werewolf

      July 20th, 2015 - 11:30pm

To the first. Neil Correy has tweeted that they might if they go on for long enough as long as they’ve been through them all once. That said it could be sarcasm.

Well as to likeness, it’s because of wrinkles and stuff that makes it easier for them to do the older Doctors (Ben has said as much already), so most of the companions would not be as good anyway. More importantly (in my opinion), with the exceptions of K9 and Kamelion, the companions look like humans and so don’t make for interesting figurines in my opinion. (The Doctors and Masters don’t count as they have interesting unique looks, and the Doctors practically are the show.)

      What’s next I meant

    • The Werewolf

      July 23rd, 2015 - 12:37am

      Current confirmed future issues:

      52 – Handbot
      53 – Moonbase Cyberman
      54 – The Foretold
      55 – Supreme Council Dalek
      56 – The First Doctor
      57 – Dalek Sec Hybrid
      58 – Auton (Rose)
      59 – Necros Dalek
      60 – The Eighth Doctor

      Special 5 – The Beast
Special 6 – Emperor Dalek (Evil)
Special 7 – The Face of Boe

Rare Dalek 5 – Imperial Guard Dalek
Rare Dalek 6 – Asylum Mad Throne Room Guard
Rare Dalek 7 – Chase Guard Dalek

Ben Robinson has also given hints for issues 61-65 and they are:

      1. One of them is from a black and white story
      2. One of them has a bad temper
      3. It’s easy to get a handle on one of them
      4. One of them was very sweet and met an unfortunate end (not Kandyman)
      5. One of them got the hump

He’s also said they’re from 5 different Doctors:

This leads me to believe they are:

      The Sixth Doctor
      Paradigm Dalek
      Chantho
      Sensorite
      Cyberman (Revenge)

Re: Sensorite & Chantho, the former was previously confirmed as in development and the latter was hinted at as “insect woman”

Have my collection on eBay however the way this collection has improved has made me torn between keeping or selling. Thinking back, Matt Smith was quite poor and probably set the bar quite low, whereas seeing Hartnell it’s like from a totally different collection.
Surely the same producers and artists have been used and the QA has been much improved

They all look brilliant. Not a single bad one. Eaglemoss have improved so much from their rocky beginnings.
