New super rare Doctor Who micro figures unveiled by Character Options Character Options has revealed details of a number of brand new super rare micro- figures amongst the latest Character Building Doctor Who Display Brix Series 4 collection, which is out now. The assortment of 12 highly detailed and fully articulated figures features key characters from the hit TV show which is currently wow-ing audiences on BBC One.

WHOCBSeries4SuperRarefigure

The first micro-figure for the Twelfth Doctor played by Peter Capaldi together with his companion Clara Oswald and many other classic characters monsters are included in the range. Each figure comes in its own transparent Display Brix casing that can be stacked and presented into one awesome Doctor Who display. If the release of this new collection of figures was not news enough, Character Options can confirm that there are actually five further figures to hunt for; all super-rare with 100 or less of each to find.

Who to look out for…

  • 100 of Clara Oswald in Bow Cardigan
  • 75 of The Eleventh Doctor with Handles
  • 75 of The Eleventh Doctor as he was seen in the episode “The Crimson Horror”

And rarest of all …

  • 50 of Wooden Cybermen
  • 50 of Captain Jack Harkness

Series4SuperRares580

Mark Hunt from Character Options commented: “At just £1.99 our Doctor Who Character Building Display Brix are already highly collectable for fans, but we like to throw in a little extra excitement by adding a number of super rare figures to each new Series of figures.

The new collection is by far the coolest we’ve released, with a wide variety of new collectibles and rarer than ever special figures which will be a huge bonus for fans who are lucky enough to find them.”

You do right to sell it man, I hope you get a brill price for it. I’d personally love a normal Capt. Jack but alas no Tesco (or anywhere else)near me is doing this wave I managed to get Capaldi from ebay and at the convention I was at I bought 13 but ended up with multiple Daleks/zygons/cybermen.

    • Lucky Finder

      November 16th, 2014 - 9:07am

Cheers! You should be able to get a normal Captain Jack cheaply.from ebay, though. I sold one for £3.50 on. There last week. But have, of course, kept one for myself!

    • KORSAIR

      November 16th, 2014 - 9:36am

Yep the normal Capt. Jacks are common enough on ebay it’s just a shame no Tescos near me are selling this wave, they didn’t sell the last wave either in fact Who related items of any type seem to be rare in Tescos.

    • booboo

      November 16th, 2014 - 10:45am

None have the Tesco’s near me have them either

I hear of some Tescos keeping a wide rage of Who items and then others non at all

as i have said I’m sure people ordered boxes on-line (as we did) in the hope they might get a super rare when in fact it looks like it was never possible

some people have no choice but to order online as they have no stockists near them

    • KORSAIR

      November 16th, 2014 - 10:55am

To be fair Tescos was stuck with many unsold 5″ character figures a few years back and sold them off at a greatly reduced price so I can understand their reluctance to stock Who related items but what gets me is they stock all the other character building ranges sports, Scooby doo etc but no Doctor Who, though again I noticed the other day that they are selling the sports ones off at £1 each so maybe there isn’t much of a market for CB items locally.

Unbelievably, just been rooting through another box at another Tesco. Made my three selections and got another War, Vastra and Super Rare! Am keeping the Vastra this time as I’ve warmed to the toy, despite it having little of the character’s personality. It’ll go nicely with the Strap, too.

The super rare is the Captain Jack. I’ll get a link up later. Feel so lucky, might even do the lottery tonight!!!

    • booboo

      November 15th, 2014 - 7:03pm

apart from the fact they are selling them on ebay, must have come from somewhere

personally i am a little concerned these are only turning up in Tescos

Does that means that those who ordered from Character , FP or elsewhere never stood a chance of getting one?

    • Warrior Doctor

      November 15th, 2014 - 7:08pm

      Why are you selling them?

    • Lucky Finder

      November 15th, 2014 - 7:36pm

Yes, very hard to believe. But check my eBay account for evidence! As stated, Captain Jack will be up there later.

I’m not sure whether I have got lucky or, as seems possible, maybe they’re not quite as rare as we think. There’s a couple of hundred of them in total out there, but just how many boxes have been given to Tesco? Consider how many boxes were sold via CO’s website, none of. Which contained are super rares. I suppose this just leaves the question of how many Tesco boxes are out there, as I think it’s now obvious these are the only…

    • Lucky Finder

      November 15th, 2014 - 7:40pm

…place that’s been allocated super rares!

As for why I’m selling them, I set out to get Capaldi and Hurt only, but obviously ended up.with several double ups I didn’t need. I’ve kept the (normal) Clara, Jack and Vastra now, but as for the super rares…well, I just can’t justify owning anything that’s worth quite that much! My toys are already at risk.of being attacked by an inquisitive toddler, so these super valuable ones aree probably better elsewhere. Secondly, the money is extremely useful right now. Hopefully can take the family…

    • Lucky Finder

      November 15th, 2014 - 7:42pm

…on a short break, and the rest will go handily towards Christmas and car expenses. I’m not a mercenary and Ive loved Doctor Who since I was a kid in the eighties, but I’ve got a nice collection of the mini figures that feels complete without the super rares, so they should get new homes!

    • KORSAIR

      November 15th, 2014 - 8:17pm

Personally speaking, if you’ve been lucky enough to nab 3 super rares all I can say is well done man, treat the family and yourself with whatever you get for them. I echo Booboo’s concerns about Tesco seeming to be the only shop that seems to have the S R’s methinks there was a deal made somewhere, shame my branch never got them in to begin with.

    • Lucky Finder

      November 15th, 2014 - 10:43pm

Cheers for the support, and glad you don’t think I’m scum 🙂

The three have all been from.different stores, and I’ve been lucky enough to turn up at each as a new case is lying on the shelf, relatively undisturbed.

I’ve been travelling a bit for work related meetings lately so have been able to get a bit further afield, but they’re all in the North West.

I certainly believe the numbers are limited to what CO say they are, but even if Tesco took as many as 1200 cases, that still means something like one in three would contain a super rare…

Unbelievably, I’ve just picked up another three, to find the War Doctor I so desperately wanted, a second Vastra, and then…the wooden Cyberman. Argh!!

Very excited about this! There are only 50 of these made, which makes him twice as rare as Clara, right? How exciting!

You’ll have to wait a little bit. My ‘phone took a swim recently, and the camera ain’t up to much. I’ll use my better half’s hardware later and get something uploaded.

The wooden cyberman was quite exciting to get. I saw the ‘golden ticket’, my heart popped into my mouth, and then I saw it was the super super rare, rather than “just another Clara!”

The John Hurt is lovely although, like Capaldi, it’s a shame he lacks any ‘laughter lines’!

    • Living Shadow

      November 15th, 2014 - 8:45am

It’s the same with me but for Tesco! The 2 closest big Tescos don’t sell these which is annoying as that’s where all the rares are found!

not one was found in the numerous full boxes sent out by Character or FP when they first appeared in stock but the the minuet they hit Tescos shelves they started to appear, exactly the same happened with series 3

Hi, today I opened the limited edition Captain Jack for Series 4 (one of 50)! As far and I’m concerned I’m the only person so far to find it… I have a few questions in regarding to selling it 🙂

How much on eBay should I expect to get from it? Is there a recommended starting bid? A recommended reserve? I’ll take some photos and make a special video on my YouTube channel (/gabble). Is there a way of contacting Boobo for some specialist advice and some exclusive coverage on this rare figure? 🙂

It’s ludicrous that somebody paid so much money for a toy that you could get from a shop if you’re lucky. I remember collecting these small figures many years ago and the rarest one was a gold samurai figure which was built up to be the most difficult to find and that they only made a thousand of them. I managed to get two of them through sheer luck.

I think character options are being irresponsible in the fact they make these “super rares” but they only inspire greed and someone cashing in on circumstances they should make
All the figures rereadily available to fans who want them or sell them as a set for a set price because they sell for stupid amounts of money they don’t get its just a sad really I hope lego can make a difference when and if they get control of the licence rights

      October 29th, 2014 - 10:30pm

I agree with a42ftw. If they’re going to do super rates they need to make them at least a little easier to obtain. The amounts of each one at the moment make the chances of you actually finding one astronomical. The whole idea of them is to get people to hunt them down, so why not make a larger amounts of them instead of making it virtually impossible to get one?
