K9 Figurine Autographed Edition – First Picture

K9 Adventures Model Special Autographed Edition

This item is available to pre order from www.thewhoshop.com

K9 OFFICIAL COLLECTOR’S FIGURINE The Who Shop is pleased to announce that they have arranged with the manufacturer an exclusive limited 500 units to come with a random autographed card by either John Leeson, Bob Baker or Paul Tams or ALL THREE! …Coming in November!

WHO let the dog out? Humanity’s best friend K9 gets a complete 21st Century makeover as he wags his way into his own TV series. Voiced by actor John Leeson, he was first introduced to viewers in the DR WHO story arc, “The Invisible Enemy ” (1977), which starred Tom Baker as the Fourth Doctor and Louise Jameson as Leela traveling to Saturn’s moon Titan.

Image thanks to Stephan

Since then he has been an enduring (and endearing) companion over many years to several Doctors, including David Tennant in “School Reunion” (2006) and again in “Journey’s End” (2008) together with Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane Smith. With Sladen he also appeared in the two spin-off series K-9 AND COMPANY (1981) and THE SARAH JANE ADVENTURES (2007 – present). The new TV series K9 is created by Bob Baker and Paul Tams and started airing on UK terrestrial TV in December, 2010.

Originally created by Bob Baker and Dave Martin, K9 is a brave and sensitive character, often sacrificing himself to help save his “Master.” Now you get to be his master and take him home to look after him in the shape of this highly detailed and hand-painted resin figurine produced with the co-operation and help of the creators. Isn’t that a great idea, K9? “AFFIRMATIVE!”This 9cm model comes in resin.

The Who Shop is pleased to announce that they have arranged with the manufacturer an exclusive limited 500 units to come with a random autographed card by either John Leeson, Bob Baker or Paul Tams or ALL THREE!

Just to be clear, Bob Baker and Dave Martin own the concept of K9, but the BBC own the official prop and the design, same with the Daleks, the Nation estate owns the concept, but the BBC own the design, so any non-BBC approved show MUST NOT contain the BBC copyrighted designs.

Might get this (prefer the original k9 though), would be cool to get bob baker and/or john leesons autograph on it. Not seen any of this series yet is it any good? i’ve heard mixed reviews and have been hesitant seeing its not filmed in the uk and am i right in thinking its 20+ episodes if so does it drag on at all?

There are 26 episodes each one very different, i was aimed at the young audience and although made in Australia was set in London, there are a few discrete but not direct Doctor Who reference some didn’t like it and others really liked it.

we have a whole section here where you can read about it http://www.thedoctorwhosite.co.uk/k9/

I don’t think we’re getting this toy (in any version) in Australia.

Which is kind of ironic if you think about it, since the show was co-produced here. o_O

The signature edition(s) are a nice idea… you’d be stoked if you got all three. 😀
