thank you. i just had an amazing weekend my friend and his 7 year old boy stayed over and every single figure was taken of the shelves and played with. It makes collecting all worth while. we love this site and check every day. Thank you for making collecting easy.

Stupid question- Are these classic daleks and 8th doctor part of this special series of figures?

      They are 3.75″

BUT i very much suspect we will see the 8th Doctor in 5″ as well as part of the collectors series, i mean is there anyone who wouldn’t want that?

I never really see the 3.75 inch figures anywhere where I live I only see them in boots and toys r us and the figures they have are the old 3.75 inch figure waves. So I always have to order them online and it is very annoying.

The diamond classic remind me of the US figures. Why not the classic series. I didn’t think those i mentioned were examples, we just don’t know, I hope the Ainley Master comes out in his proper outfit, I and many others have wanted it for years.

this was always going to be 5″, but sold through Character and perhaps other specialists

i doubt we should expect them in Argos and supermarkets , 5″ never really went away it just evolved onto a collectors market really

3.75″ is that mass market line and seems to be doing fine

    • booboo

      May 21st, 2015 - 7:28pm

a collectors series of figures, classic and new, with a range of accessories and more expensive but no need for variants

I don’t know if that’s what this is about or if the original idea has changed

      watch this space

    • Ian

      May 21st, 2015 - 7:31pm

The black series is what the Star Wars 6 ” figures are known as. They come in a black box, detailed with accessories. Al Dewar mentioned a while back we would see in 5″ Tegan , Sarah, Jamie, Ainley Master in proper outfit and classic Silurian. Seeing is believing lol.

    • booboo

      May 21st, 2015 - 7:39pm

      weren’t those just examples

yes Black series is just a “reference” on a similar idea

Personally i think they should call it Diamond Classic Series , but then that’s because I invented it

    • Dalek Smith

      May 21st, 2015 - 8:17pm

That’s actually a pretty cool name booboo, I don’t mind them calling it “Black Series” but that’s only because I’m a huge fan of the Star Wars Black Series, anybody else collect them?

I’m personally really excited about these figures, the Daleks especially! The one thing I’m really hoping for is a re-sculpt of the Imperial Daleks. I know that will never happen in 5 inch but in the 3.75 inch that would look amazing!

We need the 5″ inch scale back there was just so much detail in there work from 2005 and 2012 but now whats happened the only way I may be convinced the the 3.75″ is if they re-release of the figures that they do but focus more on the Head sculpts of Matt Smith, David Tennant but more importantly Jenna Coleman as they looked nothing like them but until that day im sorry but i am hoping to see a full return to the 5 inch scale once and for all

Again with the 5″.!!!!!! It’s gone!! It’s not coming back. It wasn’t making money. The line of figures is now 3.75″! If you don’t like them, you don’t have to buy them. I’m just happy that we get any Doctor Who figures at all! Please Stop whining about 5″ and just be happy with what we got

    • Cyberman Bill

      March 25th, 2015 - 9:51pm

    • The Missing Doctor

      March 26th, 2015 - 9:51am

First of all i am not whining about the 3.75″ the detail on them are Fantastic on none humanoid figures (eg Daleks, Cybermen, Zygons, skovox blitzer, ect) but CO need to work harder on the detail of figures such as 10th, 11th, 12th Doctors and Clara on both the detail of the faces and even the Facial sculpts them selves. That is the reason on why im not keen on them, there not a bad idea at all but they just need to focus more on the facial sculpts then re-release the figures that had bad reviews not just from but from others who agree.

    • booboo

      March 26th, 2015 - 10:00am

I would agree some of the early figures were not brilliant, but the 2nd Clara sculpt and 10th doctor I have no issue at all with, and i thing Amy looks better than her 5″ figure to be honest.

The 11th is been and gone so i doubt they will go back over that

    • Dean Wells

      March 26th, 2015 - 2:27pm

3.75 scale are generally awful. Started collecting but they looked so dire next to my 5 scale collection (particularly the Capaldi effort which could have been anyone in a black coat) I gave up, gave all the 3.75s to my Grandson, will concentrate on picking up the harder to get 5 inch figures and building up that collection.

    • booboo

      March 26th, 2015 - 2:32pm

you give to your grandson things that you think are awful?

    • The Missing Doctor

      March 26th, 2015 - 8:05pm

booboo i agree with you about the amy pond face sculpt on the 3.75″ figure being better than the 5″ scale it is and tbh i may even be tempted to pick one up but i will see how the new wave looks and if they focus more on the face sculpts they may finally win me over but on if the face sculpts improve this year

    • Alex The Geek

      March 27th, 2015 - 5:59am

You all keep saying how great the detail was on the 5” figures but it has never been perfect. Look at some of the earliest figures (like Rose who looks nothing like Billie) that range got more detailed as time went on so why can’t 3.75″?

    • Anonymous

      March 27th, 2015 - 4:09pm

My Grandson doesn’t find them awful. He’s a 6 year old child who even loves the toys out of crackers. If it’s related to Doctor Who he’ll love it. I however am an adult who can plainly see – and I’m sure we would all admit it, but don’t have a choice – no matter how you try to convince yourself, the 3.75″ figures aren’t a patch on the 5″.

    • booboo

      March 27th, 2015 - 4:27pm

these are not aimed at adults an never were

they are nearly half the size and half the price of the 5″ figures

how could they possibly be the same

    • Anonymous

      March 27th, 2015 - 10:31pm

I think that it’s good to have 5” figures if you’re planning on giving them a purpose like stop motion animation or something or having a collecters edition of something, but I think the newer 3.75 range is progressing in detail, I just think that when the change was made it had a “humble beginnings” phase especially since the show was getting into it’s 50th and a transition to the 12th Doctor was well on the way and about now I think CO could just on the brink of smashing the atom of success.

    • Anonymous

      March 28th, 2015 - 6:59pm

Well Booboo you’ve made the point perfectly. Why I, as an adult collector of everything Who related, am not collecting them.

    • DS

      March 31st, 2015 - 2:44pm

Wow, alot of debate over the scale.

I think many realise that 3.75 scale is the scale now.
However, there are many collectors who would appreciate the occasional release of 5 inch figures particularly one off’s that will enhance their collection.

E.g. The Night of the doctor 8th Doctor
TV Movie 7th Doctor and Master
      Missy etc etc.

I don’t think people are looking for spurious releases of 5 inch figures that will not sell but rather components for collections like the 5 inch War Doctor.
Conversely, this would also be good to see in the 3.75 scale.

Booboo about the 11th Doctor thing I bet you now in wave 5 we will see the 11th Doctor in space suit they are doing 12 and 10 11 worn it so it pretty much confirmed.

They’ll probably use the sculpt for the Saucer Commander, regular ‘drone’ and the Supreme, though not all at once. Get as much out of that sculpt as they can, like they did with the Genesis/Gold Supreme/Mutant Scoop/Evil Guards/Revolution Daleks

The sculpts are likely digital, so now they’ve done this, it’s actually more likely for them to just scale it up to a 5″ figure further down the line.

    • Anonymous

      March 25th, 2015 - 5:30pm

It just has to be a UT exclusive soon, doesn’t it? We would go mad for it. I almost paid £75 for a custom on ebay but was out bif…it went for £85 in the end.

The figure can be made by using Capt John Harts legs, and bare torse with the waistcoat of Prof Yana and the coat and arms of the 6th Doctor…all repainted of course…then you have to sculpt the collar. You could use the War Doctor scarf too.
