Forbidden Planet have Taken delivery of a stunning collection of exclusive classic figures and sets including The 1st Doctor with Black Dalek in colour and Black & White, the 2nd Doctor with Telos Cyber Tombs in Colour and Black and White and the 6th Doctor In Real Time Blue Coat.

2nd Doctor with Cyberman

This is the first appearance of the second Doctor, Patrick Troughton as part of Character Options classic figure series. Troughton was the first actor to experience the Doctor’s regeneration in the Cybermen storyline ‘The Tenth Planet’ first broadcast on 29th October 1966. At the time the show was shown in black and white and the color used on these figures are authenticated by the many existing ‘behind the scene’ shots. The Cyberman is the version which appears, discovered in the cyber-tombs of the planet Telos, in the episode ‘The Tomb of the Cybermen’ (Sept 1967).

The very limited ‘variant edition’ of the figures stick to a black and white color scheme.

1st Doctor with Black Dalek

This is the first appearance of the first Doctor, William Hartnell as part of Character Options classic figure series. It was Hartnell who brought the Doctor to our screens in that very first broadcast on 23rd November 1963. At the time the show was shown in black and white and the color used on these figures are authenticated by the many existing ‘behind the scene’ shots. The Dalek is from the ‘Dalek Invasion of Earth’ (Dec 1964) storyline and varies most conspicuously from later versions by the double neck banding and the energy dish collecting aerial on the rear. The Black Dalek was designated by rank as the ‘Supreme Controller’.

The very limited ‘variant edition’ of the figures stick to a black and white color scheme.

6th Doctor In Real Time Blue Coat

This alternative costume was most visibly used in the BBC webcast ‘Real Time’ (having previously appeared on a few book and audio book covers). It varies vastly from the gaudy coat of many colors normally worn by Colin Baker’s sixth Doctor whilst retaining some design elements including the dandy’s tie and question mark shirt collar. For many fans this has become almost the preferred costume with it’s more muted, less frivolous, colourways.

I don’t know why anybody would want black and white figures.
I also think it’s really great that new tech is coming out to convert black and white episodes into color, all we need now is time travel to go back and get the missing ones, or just thought of this now they should make animated episodes with the audio soundtracks

The Blue version of the Doctors clothes was the very first thing I ever bought from Forbidden planet, no regrets there! The face is different, and recently I finally got the original, from Season 22, Doctor. And the face on that figure blew me away, its such an amazing, detailed sculpt.

This one, not just from Real Time, but the stories The RaniColud Man, The recent “Crimes of Thomas Brewster” not to mention thet most obvious one: Project Lazarus, a multi Doctor story (featuring Sylvester Mccoys Doctor, appearing in clothes from TV movie).

    Ace with monster

  33. Posted by: DoctorWhoBBC November 7th, 2009 Reply

I received the 1st Doctor in colour and the 2nd Doctor in colour on Wednesday and I absolutely love them, the mould of the faces are uncanny compared to the real actors.

  35. Posted by: joe October 27th, 2009 Reply

I just got the 2nd doc BandW version.

Looks fantastic but not geeting em out of packaging

  36. Posted by: scott johnstone September 20th, 2009 Reply

    easily getting all four

  37. Posted by: Ood king August 28th, 2009 Reply

I just heard they might make a new Fourth Doctor figure.
But I think they should realize Sarah, Liz and Tegan aswell

  38. Posted by: Ood king August 25th, 2009 Reply

I think I agree with Slitheen Scout too just like Sil I wonder if they could actually bang their heads together and start realizing classic companions.

  39. Posted by: Juddon Master August 25th, 2009 Reply

I wonder if Character will actually make any companions if not then I want more Sarah Jane Adventures figures instead but hopefully we get Sarah Jane, Barbara, Mel, Liz, Susan, Victoria and more.

  40. Posted by: Slitheen scout August 24th, 2009 Reply

Thanks Sil for that interesting comment and I do agree with you there because I don’t think we getting our moneys worth and if we keep on asking for companions then we might finally get some even if it’s just Sarah Jane and one or two others it’s still good.

  41. Posted by: Sil August 24th, 2009 Reply

I think a lot of what you mention is good but i fear there will be no companions from CO. we seem to be having enough trouble getting the Doctors and some new monsters let alone companions. Really hope we get to see a special weapons Dalek one day and another cyberman wave

  42. Posted by: Slitheen scout August 24th, 2009 Reply

I think it would be nice to get a wave of figures like this:
Tegan with The Master, Sarah Jane with Ice Warrior, Ace with Special Weapons Dalek, Mel with Seventh Doctor, Susan with Voord, Sarah Jane variation two with Raston Robot and Earthshock Cyberman, Zoe with Qwark and Liz Shaw with Silurian.
Also we could get a companion boxset containing Liz, Susan, Jo, Sarah Jane with giant spider, Mel
Please tell me what you think about this wave because I’d love it if Character made it and it would be nice to know that other people like the idea too.

  43. Posted by: booboo August 18th, 2009 Reply

It seemed to be a joint venture between them and Forbidden Planet, i get the impression it either happened this way or not at all

  44. Posted by: The Crucible August 18th, 2009 Reply

I wonder if Susan or Polly or even Zoe will be realised to go with these.

  48. Posted by: collette August 1st, 2009 Reply

ok i,ve just got the 1st dr bit panicked as2were the other2 is!!thought the packaging would’ve been bit classier!!

  49. Posted by: 1 July 31st, 2009 Reply

i’ve got them now any way

  50. Posted by: booboo July 30th, 2009 Reply

Depends, if they ordered a run of, say 3000 and they sell out there may not be the demand for a second run so i still think its grab em while you can if you want them, i cant see any reason why the Doctors cant be released in another form, ie as a set, as far as i can tell its just these particular packs that are exclusive.

Unfortunately there is no guarantee the Doctors will be available again.

  51. Posted by: 1 July 30th, 2009 Reply

    thank god for that

  52. Posted by: booboo July 30th, 2009 Reply
