Just been delivered. The recon dalek in all its rusted glory is a lovely addition. Bad News, the price is to be increased, but I don,t mind as long as they keep the quality up. I just wish we as loyal subscribers could get these earlier.

I’m astonished they have been able to keep at the same price for over 5 years, this could also mean they are looking at an (affordable and viable for them) extension if the majority stay on board.

Morning! I don’t deal with the logistics side of things, so you might have to forgive my ignorance about deliveries, but how is it late if it’s not due till Thursday?

Also, I have seen the Reconnaissance Scout Dalek in the flesh and it’s rather nice. But I would say that, wouldn’t I?

I mean from a subscribers point of view, it would be great if we could get these a lot earlier than the shops, theres only usually a day or so in it. Nobody appears to have got theirs yet as there aren,t any images up on this site and the Likes of WHSmith will have this in stock Thursday.
Looks great from what little i have seen of it up close on your twitterpage recently.

they have gone out of sequence i think, i seem to remember it used to be one was about at same time as the shops but the other 2 weeks ahead of the shops, now its the other way round so shops have already had the Cyber Shade 2 weeks ago and then the Dalek before subscribers get either.

I can understand subscribers being a little unhappy about seeing the issues in shops before they receive them. I’m sorry that I don’t know why this happens. I’ll try to find out what’s going on but I’m not sure that this will change back. You’ll have to bear with me for any further info because I’m snowed with work right now (which means lots of good stuff coming up…) and I work from home.

I didn’t get my Cybershade from my newsagent until last week. About a week later than I thought it was due.

I don’t know what’s happening with deliveries but there’s been a couple of blips over the last few months which have then been sorted out, mostly. It did upset a few people though. Personally I’m not too bothered when they arrive, as long as it’s only a few days or a week or two rather than months. They’re always worth waiting for.

Just a thought considering that Disney have bought fox does that mean they co own the 8th Doctor TV movie so if they wanted too they could start their own Doctor who series starting with the 8th doctor regenerating into an entire different cast of new Doctor s

Maybe a shared copyright like the Daleks are with Terry Nation’s estate and the BBC?

Missed opportunity of having Paul McGann’s brothers in on the act. Some kind of accident involving the 8th Doctor causes him to be split. Fractured in time. Each Fragment played by one of McGann’s brothers. Each one a valid and legitimate aspect of the Doctor. Then they get killed and regenerate into…?

Someone else want to finish the story?

      Yeah, me as well.
I rang EM and they said there had been delays but should receive 152 and 153 in seven days at the latest.

I get mine from a local newsagent. He says there’s a bit of a delay with this and some Star Trek partworks he gets for a couple of other subscribers. He seems to think shipments come via Spain for some reason?

It will probably arrive like buses, three at once. Two regular issues and another special edition all at the same time.

If you look at the FP site there’s also more of a gap between the expected dates for Kerblam Man and the earlier issues.

    • Anonymous

      July 5th, 2019 - 9:39am

Dates are different on FP. The usual two week gap between issues up to 153 but three weeks before issue 154. Delivery timetables being reset due to stock delays probably?

      152 14 Jul.
      153 28 Jul.
      154 18 Aug.
      155 01 Sep.
      156 15 Sep.
      157 29 Sep.

Crisis over, my withdrawal symptoms are subsiding. It’s been more than 3 weeks since I bought the Paradigm Dalek. Seems I may be addicted to the collection.

Got my Kerblam Man issue from my newsagent yesterday. And the Broton Zygon figure is also in the shop as of this morning. It also has a cover sticker advertising the next Special Edition.

hope everyone else’s figures also turn up. Worth waiting on definitely.

If they do consider ever doing a one-off Expanded Universe figure I’d really hope for it to be the Dalek Time Controller.

Seing as we are getting Big Finish figures, does anyone eles want to see Big Finish characters / enemies in the collection? Here is just a few that could be done:
Stained Glass Dalek from Order of the Daleks
Mondasian on the Cyberhorse from Spare Parts (although the horse is unlikely)?
Temporal Weapons Dalek from Engines of War
Dalek Time Controller or Dalek Time Strategist from various stories
War Master from Only the Good . . .
Or even characters from spin offs

I’ve been asked a fair bit about doing a stained glass Dalek. We could never do it justice at just 70mm tall.

Engines of War is a novel, but I haven’t a clue what the Temporal Weapons Dalek is 🙂

And we’ve done Derek Jacobi as the Master 🙂

Temporal Weapons Dalek is featured on the Engine of War Cover. Looks similar to the Special Weapons Dalek apart from it’s Bronze.

I remember what a Temporal Weapons Dalek is! I think it’s a nice idea, but I’m not sure whether we’d be able to do it (licence problems) and whether enough of our readers would want something that hadn’t been seen on screen.

With all due respect, i think you underestimate how good you guys are at these figures. I can definitely see how hard it would be to make a stained glass dalek but i still sit back in amazement when i see davros from issue 2 on my shelf. Even back then when you were just finding your feet you were still making amazing figures. The amount of detail you manage to put into these small figures is nothing short of phenomenal. It may be a difficult one to do, absolutely, but it is certainly possible and judging from the rest of the collection i have no doubts at all that you would be able to do it justice. Whether we see more big finish figures in future or not, i hope this collection keeps growing. I admire the craftsmanship of these figures and they’ve inspired me since i started collecting them. I’ve gone back and watched old episodes purely because these figures just brought all of the memories back. You’re doing an excellent job and can’t thank you enough for this collection.

Mr Eight-Ball! Thanks for your comments about the collection. Much appreciated.

I think as soon as the artwork for Order of the Daleks appeared someone asked if a figurine could be done. I think it’s a great-looking Dalek but experience tells me that while we might be able to do the body of the Dalek justice, we couldn’t do the colouring so well.

It’s not called the Sheffield Steel Dalek. That was just a working title. It’s Reconnaissance Scout Dalek. That’s what it said when I sent it to print on Wednesday anyway. The figurine is absolutely one of my favourites too.

Just a really random thought… is something like the saturnyne vampire creature possible to do in a similar way as to how they did the wirrn? I think it’s a really cool design that we don’t see much of in merchandise. I hope they can continue with specials even if the main range does unfortunately end (which I hope it doesn’t). I really like the designs of obscure new who monsters like the skovox Blitzer and eater of light creature too and it would be nice to see these in the collection one day but I know there are more desirable figurines to do that a larger majority of people might appreciate. Any thoughts?

I also think that the Saturnynes and Skovox Blitzer would be a good addition to the collection, though if they did do it, I imagine it would be a special issue. There is still a lot of new and classic who that could be done. I look forward to seeing what we will be getting in future.

Would love a Jagrafess. No merchandise on it at all. It could be done just by having 3 pillars to hold it up on a flat roof to represent walls and the ceiling

    • John

      June 28th, 2019 - 4:26pm

It’s really strange that some figures like Saturnye creature don’t get made, though I read that the legs would be breakable. I wish they would make obscure new series monsters too, but they can’t do everything. One monster I would like is Leandro. I can’t why some new series monsters are forgotten, when they are interesting design wise.

    • Neil Corry

      June 28th, 2019 - 5:46pm

We have some gorgeous reference for the Saturnyne but it’s too delicate for our process. If I could get good pictures of the Eater of Lights monster, then maybe we would. Skovox Blitzer is definitely on the list, but only if the collection goes on after issue 180. A Jagrafess is unlikely precisely because of the pillars. It’s why I can’t do a Prisoner Zero :((((

      Hi Neil.

Do you guys get any information behind the scenes so you can plan a figurine in advance to coincide say with a series launch or do you have to wait til broadcast and see what is new and worthy of a figurine from that point?

      Thanks
