They haven’t gotten round to them yet, they wanted the Doctors and Masters out first so companions weren’t coming until at least issue 150.

In Australia, we are currently up to issue 91, which writes about Doctor Who at the end of 2009. Where is this history timeline up to by issue 126?

We’re still on 121 or 123 so far (depending on whether we’ve recieved a delivery this week, so we don’t know what year it’s up to, but what I will tell you is that the timeline really stalled and you can get 5 issues for a single year.

Do they need the actors’ permissions to do companion figurines? I know this doesn’t apply to Doctor actors due to the number of figures produced in their likeness over the years.

I believe permission is required for the likeness of actors who have passed away, from their respective estates, beyond that, im not sure…

Likenesses always have to be approved by the actor (if alive) or by their estate or family (if deceased).

That is when the character still looks human of course, any prosthetics and they don’t.

I would love to see the decayed master Beavers merge in Tremas as one of the master figures but it would be hard to do.

It’s a really intresting idea, but given it was done using a transparent overlay, I’d say it would be very hard to pull off a sceen accurate 3D figure. It would require a lot of design work given there’s only one reference shot (they’d have to decide how to handle things like the master’s hood, tremases beard, how the clothes merge, even the faces don’t quite line up in the shot), they’d basically have to design a figure from scratch (and get that design approved by the bbc)

They aren’t doing them in a fixed order, they’ll be done as and when they are ready.

They could of course have C Baker in miners rags from Mark of the Rani, P Davison in Harlequin outfit from Black orchid…and Pertwee as the cleaning lady from the green death !

From comments they made a few weeks back, sounds like the purple coat 11th will be some time this year. They have also said that, fingers, crossed, the 13th Doctor issue will be out before year-end, and that that issue (number and release date TBC) will be the point at which they change to the new DW logo on the mag covers.

Apparently the next repeat Doctor is a season 18 Fourth Doctor, currently pencilled in around issue 132.

it would be hard to do meglos episode, but if it is Keeper of Traken episode I would be happy. if they released Malaki statue at the same time as a special issue to reflect the masters Tardis.

There’s a ton of Tom Baker coat variants they could do if they really wanted to go for it – costume-wise, he had a lot of ‘eras within era’. They could do the grey flannel long coat with brown corduroy cuffs (think Android Invasion, Brain of Morbius, Seeds of Doom and some of Season 15), the light beige coat sometimes worn with no waistcoat in S16 and S17, plus, as said, the S18 burgundy look (pencilled for issue 132 apparently).

We must remember we shouldn’t really be surprised to have a variant due to 9 versions of Cybermen/Cyberleaders, 3 versions of the Cyber Controller and about 20 different Daleks as well as now 3 Silurian’s

Bit of a strange variant. If any variant for this particular Doctor I would’ve gone with Salamander.

I think they should still do Salamander, the Abbott of Ambroise, and Meglos as Dr 4, plus Omega as Dr 5 complete with rice crispies on his face from Arc of infinity!
