Not an essential figure in all honesty, and anyway, more often than not, the likeness and detail of the monsters and robots has been better than many of the human characters in my opinion.

While I’d very much welcome Curator and Valeyard figures as part of the collection (as separate incarnations of the Doctor), I do think any further Doctor variants on already issued figurines should be released in a similar way that the two Bonus Daleks were a little while back. This could be the Hurdnall Doctor followed by repeats in different outfits, but I really can’t see there’s much demand for figures already collected when there are so many other things we want. (Companions!)

its often said “why dont they give us what we want” on here across all brands like Eaglemoss, Character and titans

yet despite David Bradley coming top bar one of our poll for the 12th Doctors era (along with the “new” mondasian Cyberman which is arguably another already released figurine ) i have never seen such hostility towards an Eaglemoss release. these polls have 1000s of votes not just 20 or 30

We have already got a figurine of the first doctor. Personally I find this to be a silly decision. what’s next? three figurines of classic Davros portrayed by the different actors? the second actor to portray the decaying master? a clockwork man wearing different colour clothes? Blon Fel-Fotch the slitheen without her human disguise. mother Bloodtide the carrionite? a robot of Sherwood with a closed helmet. the hydro flax with Nardole’s head? a weeping angel in a different pose. Five more giant figurines of the Tardis but for a every doctor? a humanoid axon boy girl and woman? a robot Santa carrying a different instrument? Madame Vastra wearing a different outfit? The meta crisis Tenth Doctor? Mr Clever?

I can think of loads of figurine ideas they haven’t included yet. such as a God of Ragnarok The glass woman, K9, The cyber planner (classic), The elder of the Ood, a smiler or a winder, Sil the mentor, The werewolf, a Krillitane, a cyber shade, a Kroton, The Rani, Warriors of the deep Silurian and sea devil. a generic Time lord and the Dalek time controller

Lol I personally would love them to do the other versions of Davros and wouldn’t mind the other decaying Master either, actually they probably will do one of him because I’m pretty sure they promised “every Master”.

    • Anonymous

      January 6th, 2018 - 5:34pm

But you’ve asked for the elder ood which is basically just an Ood variant right?

    • The Living Shadow

      January 6th, 2018 - 6:48pm

I’d love to get all the variants of the Tardis exterior! They would look brilliant all in a row on display, especially at the scale of the figurines as the ones for the 5″ figures are a bit too large to display all together.
Also a non-hostile weeping angel would be welcomed in my books, as it’s quite iconic and would look good next to the other one which we got years ago (it would also allow new-comers to get a famous monster easily)
I do like all the new ideas you had though too- The Glass Woman from this years christmas episode would be particularly interesting to see!

    • Anonymous

      January 6th, 2018 - 10:20pm

Agreed. I’d love all the versions of Davros because, if you are truly a fan of Davros, you would know that the different Davros actually have a lot of things that are different! Different Tardis exteriors would be AWESOME!! I’d love to get Every Doctors Tardis including the very first “cylinder” shaped one! Just imagine how cool that would look on Display! Especially with their Doctors displayed next to them! I don’t see why everyone is complaining and making a fuss about this!? You don’t have to like every figurine they make, God knows I dont, but being a True Whovian fan, I can appreciate them for the work put into them and appreciate the fact that there are also fans that will love the ones I hate! It’s a simple fix for all the complainers…… Just don’t buy it! Oh, and if you are a subscriber,be happy that you have a new part for your Doctor Whp collection!

      January 7th, 2018 - 1:11am

I couldn’t agree more The Living Shadow, I’ve wanted TARDIS exterior variants since the beginning. I’d love to see the glass woman rendered as a figurine too, reminds me of the glass dalek which was apparently being looked into.

    • Anonymous

      January 7th, 2018 - 2:26am

The glass Dalek sounds Awesome although I can see the point that since this figurine collection won’t go to infinity you want the best choices and choosing the exact same form of character just with different clothes and a new actor who is doing an impression of William Hartnell. If they are running out of monster ideas they could always start on companions. speaking of good guys in Doctor who I would love them to make figurines of Jenny and Strax (butler outfit) To go with Vastra. As for the Tardis well Although there are minimal differences to the exterior variants I would be okay with one classic Tardis not all of them though I wouldn’t mind them doing figurines of all the different Tardis Consoles. I am also a big Dalek and Davros Fan and Would love to see a classic Davros though probably the one from Genesis of the Daleks as it was his first appearance and we already have the Terry Malloy Davros in the Imperial Emperor casing. As for new figurines to make I wouldn’t mind having the Kandy Man, The genesis Ark, Dalek Thay with missing back panels, Dalek Jast with the syringe arm, The Movie Master, The judoon captain, The empress of the Racnoss, One of the robots from Dinosaurs on a spaceship (speaking of which I would have preferred a David Bradley figurine as Solomon),a Cloister Wraith, a Pyrovile possibly the scientist and Eternal Dalek. I would also like them to start a figurine collection for all the Doctor who Spaceships if they are feeling more ambitious.

What contributions? One episode and a drama. What a waste of time this is. Much like the Christmas episode he was just a gimmick used as Moffat had run out of ideas.

    • Jordan Scott

      January 6th, 2018 - 4:44pm

He was the star of a feature length docudrama about the show’s creation for the 50th, then appeared as the joint lead role in the Xmas special, and now he’s starring in his own Big Finish audio series – I think that more than qualifies for “contributions”.

    • T.A

      January 6th, 2018 - 5:50pm

I kind of get him playing the doctor in 50th special and kind off with twice upon a time, but what’s the point with him doing big finish, it looks like his trying to replace William

    • THE ERGON

      January 6th, 2018 - 7:54pm

Nobody can replace William Hartnell but as an alternate continuation David Bradleys a fine choice. He doesn,t have to do an impression, Its his own stamp he puts on such an iconic character.I,m sure Hartnell himself would approve of choice.

    • T.A

      January 6th, 2018 - 8:19pm

Yes he probably would, but I don’t want him to play the 1st doctor fo a long period of time, which I mean doing stuff like big finish or (which is unlikely) doing episodes which have been lost, if that happens then it would be like replacing this iconic character, you may say it’s flattering to do it, but I rather hear the audios that have William Hartnell speaking, not someone else.

    • THE ERGON

      January 7th, 2018 - 12:44am

Who doesn,t? And william hartnell has left an eternal legacy for fans but he isn,t here anymore and for people who like David Bradleys take on the 1st doctor or a continuation in some form this is ideal. Just not everyones cup of tea.

    • T.A

This is probably the first ‘real-life’ figure they’ve produced. Like if they did a producer or a writer, the only prompting for this figure is purely the real-life actor. Within the fiction, they’ve already released this exact character.

If you are someone who is up for them doing what Character Options did (a lot, in the end) for their action figures range and release different ‘eras-within-eras’ costume variants, then it’s a chance to get the hat/cloak/gloves/scarf outfit of the First Doctor. But if you’re not driven by either of those approaches, and instead think ‘have I got a representation of each Doctor’, then I can see why this might be a bit of a non-event. I’m up for it, on the ‘I’d like them to do a magazine covering off Capaldi’s swan song episode in some way’, and making the glass alien woman would be a tad tricky with their resins! Also – I am very sure we will get ‘big hitter’ enemies like Magus Greel, Sutekh etc. – as someone else says, putting all the ‘wish list biggies’ out sooner rather than later would end the range quicker, spacing them out keeps subscribers in for longer. I personally don’t resent that, some might.

It’s the not the same because the two davros’ had competely different prosthetics, casings, designs and colors, there’s Davros of the classics and davros of the new era, with this argument you could make a point of it being useless to release more than one Dalek design. With the 1st doctor, these figurines aren’t good enough to produce an actors likeness and so we’re basically getting the exact hartnell again but just in different stance rather than a completely new design

No, this will be going in storage! I didn’t like him as the 1st doctor so this is one that will not be displayed!

Even the fact that they still insist on including this is pretty offensive

The thing is the figurine likeness isn’t human perfect anyway so it’s basically like them rereleasing the same figurine but just in a different pose I’m assuming because you’re not going to tell its David Bradley it’ll just be ‘generic bloke wearing hartnells clothes’

Literally everyone I’ve met has said they do want this. Why wouldn’t they? Unless they don’t like the costume…
