Engines of War: A War Doctor Novel Audio CD

engins-cdEngines of War: A War Doctor Novel Audio CD

BBC Physical Audio (18 Dec 2014)

An unabridged reading of the new novel based on the BBC TV series and featuring the War Doctor as played by John Hurt. The Great Time War has raged for centuries, ravaging the universe. Scores of human colony planets are now overrun by Dalek occupation forces.

A weary, angry Doctor leads a flotilla of Battle TARDISes against the Dalek stronghold but in the midst of the carnage, the Doctor’s TARDIS crashes to a planet below: Moldox. As the Doctor is trapped in an apocalyptic landscape, Dalek patrols roam amongst the wreckage, rounding up the remaining civilians. But why haven’t the Daleks simply killed the humans?

Searching for answers the Doctor meets ‘Cinder’, a young Dalek hunter. Their struggles to discover the Dalek plan take them from the ruins of Moldox to the halls of Gallifrey, and set in motion a chain of events that will change everything. And everyone.

An epic novel of the Great Time War featuring the War Doctor as played by John Hurt.

Do you not think that it would’ve been more soothing if John H read the story his voice is brilliant the way he delivers lines in Day Of The Doc and Merlin as the dragon just a wonderful actor, but Nicholas Briggs is brilliant. His chilling spooky hide behind the sofa Dalek voices. Wrhrhrhr. Very chilling.

Finally! Seven months after Random House got the license after AudioGo folded we finally get a Doctor Who audio release. Now what about the new audio novelisation of An Unearthly Child or the Eleventh Doctor audio story that were announced by cancelled?

Katy Said she had Read CARNIVAL of MONSTERS which was announced last August with the usual photo of Katy with a mini Tardis at AudioGo studios in bath.

Hopefully then, That can also be released …full circle was next up by Matthew Waterhouse, but I cant find if it was actualy recorded.

I do wonder if BBC Physical Audio (RH) will do any new ones.

This is a must buy as it is likely to be the only true War Doctor story. Lets hope it is read by Mr Hurt.
