Eaglemoss Doctor Who Slitheen Figurine Preview

Eaglemoss Doctor Who Figurine Collection previews

This is the first outsize figurine due early 2014. It’s a first pass 3D render and there have been only minor tweaks to this.

Doctor Who Figurine Collectors Polls

Below are several polls for you to vote for the most wanted companions and classic figures you would like to see included in the range.

If you see anything missing please leave a comment so we can amend the list

We have not covered Dalek or Cyberman variants unless they are one off’s and excluded minor characters.

We have also included figures that have already been listed as possible.

We may look at 2005+ figures later.

We will of course pass the results on to Eaglemoss.

My biggest request as a scale modeler and Dr. Who fan would be for unassembled, unpainted kits.

I think it’s important to remember that, although yes a lot of the figures are of 2005 onward, issues 1-3 & 5-7 are characters/monsters that have featured in the show during its history. They may be figures of how the appear in show since 2005, but they are still those characters.
The Doctor himself was the first figure.
    Davros – 1975.
    Silurians – 970.
    Sontarans – 1973.
And the Daleks and the Cybermen, they’ve been there since the first Doctor

They are all part of the shows history, just made to look like they do now (except cyberman ofc)

But the older ones are coming along later on (in most cases) so these are the newer versions they are releasing, regardless of whether or not they are in there or not (and for the record the Cybus Cybermen were never in the original run of the show).

What I was trying to say is that these figures are representing monsters and characters that have been in the show throughout its history.
Forget that the cyberman is a cybus cyberman for a moment, it’s still a cyberman, a monster that’s been in the show since 1966.

I get what your trying to say but unfortunately it seems that’s the attitude Eaglemoss have and its meaning we aren’t getting any classic figures.

We will be getting the classics so never worry.

I know we will get them, but we aren’t getting them right now that’s what I meant to say.

We’re having to wait until issue 15 to see anything even though the 50th anniversary will have come and gone before anything before 2005 is explored.

I’m hoping by outsize figure, that these will be creatures etc that are bigger than ‘human size’ characters, so we might see Robot, Yeti etc, maybe even Racnoss.
I agree with lack of classic figures so far, although maybe they are just concentrating on keeping newer fans of the show interested before exploring series 1-8

Agreed. Some of the choices in the final line-up are a bit odd. Honestly, who wants a figure of the Heavenly Host or Max Capricorn? Certainly not me. Swap them for some more classic monsters or companians!

Max Capricorn most certainly is not on the final line-up (at least not yet). Only the first 23 are set in stone.

      October 31st, 2013 - 8:17pm

Good. I could cope with just the Heavenly Host, but Max Capricorn would be pushing it a bit.

Just as I suspected this will be special 2, and I’d predict the release will be ten weeks after the TARDIS given other specials that are around (so between issues 12 and 13 in February).

Wait… so by ‘outsize’ figurine does that mean its not in accurate scale with the others? If so its a shame since they could of made it a special issue and had it in scale properly…

I think that’s what it means. But not sure.

    • Alex The Geek

      October 31st, 2013 - 6:40am

I don’t collect these but I would guess outsize simply means a figure that is larger/bulkier than the others.

If you look at the Slitheen it’s gonna be bigger than the 11th Doctor but it will still be in scale.

    • Explosive Cookie

      October 31st, 2013 - 1:14pm

If it is a larger one it will probably be a special issue then.

    • Anonymous

      November 1st, 2013 - 10:38am

It will be a special figure. The schedule for the first half of next year is full already in the normal issues so they couldn’t release it in early 2014 unless it was.

This also ties in with them asking if you wanted to see a Slitheen in a special issue. Knowing them though they probably intended to do it all along though.
