Dr Who Figurine Collection Special 04 K-1 Robot

Celebrate 50 years of Doctor Who this fantastic new figurine collection. The series draws from every era show and includes all eleven versions of the Doctor plus his greatest monsters.

k1

All the figurines are carefully produced in 1:21 scale, and cast in a specially formulated metallic resin before being painted by hand and individually numbered. The specially formulated resin and high quality sculpting allow the figurines to reproduce an incredible level of detail right down to the mesh in the Silurian Warrior’s uniform and the controls on Davros’s console.

Each figurine recreates a specific moment from the TV series in loving detail and every sculpt is based on detailed study of the original production photography, props and drawings.

The collection features several different versions of the Daleks and Cybermen allowing you to trace their evolution over the years. This is the definitive Doctor Who figurine collection.

Usually I get the std figures and the special in one delivery, but today, just the K1. Guess its the volume of post at the moment.

Probably the best figure to date. On mine the only marginal issue would be purple overpaint on the upper head piece rim, and bizarrely a very rippled magazine suggesting damp somewhere in the process.

Still always very pleased when it arrives.

Mine has a bent left wrist, it looks fine, but when I saw this photo it made me wonder if mine was damaged. Has anyone else had this issue?

I have. Easily bendable back into shape though 🙂

No, it’s fine. I’ve had it with a few figs

I got a bent broken wrist on the first one I got handed, but noticed and fortunately they had others in the back and exchanged. At £17 I want it perfect, I know how fragile these items are. I got morbius in a previous issue with a broken claw.

Picked up this morning from WHsmith. The same WHsmith who said they weren,t getting in no more. They also had the 5th doctor.

Yeah – the staff at WHS seem to to be honesty-impaired. This is why I stopped going in there altogether. I emailled them regarding a particular incident, but apparently they are perfectly happy to have their staff lie to customers.

I doubt the staff know from a day to day basis what they they are getting as i suspect its all ordered and supplied centrally

Staff and customer service depts vary rarely know what’s actually going on and what they will receive

one of the hazards or the way retail is now

I have asked numerous questions to many different companies over the last few months and very rarely got a helpful answer

If they don,t know they still shouldn,t say ‘We don,t do them any more’,i almost said this to the same bloke but figured whats the point. They get them in when they get them in and that’s all there is to it. Great customer service.

I got mine on Monday and I am delighted with it! The sculpt is accurate and the painting is very good (which is wonderful considering how appalling some of the paint jobs have been in the past!)

I wonder what the next special will be? Yeti? Face of Boe? Drashig? What else? As there are so many Daleks and Cybermen I hope we also get a classic Silurian and Ice Warrior!

Classic Sontaran you mean, preferably Linx, why an Ice Warrior – it looks almost the same.

The next special is hinted as being probably the Beast from “the Satan Pit”.

Actually there were Silurians in the classic series too. Complete with a third eye. I personally am hoping the next one is a Yeti or the Great Intelligence pyramid because I love the Web of Fear. Anyway, this is a superb figurine and it is very close to being my favourite.

    • Cpl Hicks

      December 4th, 2014 - 5:02pm

Yes, and the Sontaran, basically any classics that have been re-imagined in the new series.

JDP, I know there were Silurians in the classic series, I’ve seen the Pertwee story myself, I was saying keep the Silurian but swap out the Ice Warrior for a Sontaran instead, but I wouldn’t mind a classic Ice Warrior as long as we got the Sontaran and Silurian as well, I’d hate to miss out on one of the ones I want for one I wouldn’t mind but am not as interested in. And I’d love a Yeti too, but the next one is probably the Beast.

I’d also like to see a classic Ice Warrior as well, there are enough differences between the classic and new series Ice Warriors as there are with the classic and new series Sontarans 😉

Love the figure. Goes well with the character options one too. I’m running out of space fast now. Still hope they make an evil of the daleks emperor at some point.
