Dr Who Figurine Collection #137 Classic Ice Warrior

Available to order from www.shop.eaglemoss.com

The Doctor Who Figurine Collection part 137 features Varga, leader of a Martian expeditionary force stranded on Earth for thousands of years, from the 1967 Second Doctor adventure ‘The Ice Warriors’

Varga, thawed out from being rescued from a glacier, decides that Earth might be ripe for conquest – but one person is standing in his way: the Doctor!

In the magazine, writer Brian Hayles had a distinct idea for his men from Mar, but this notion of ‘space Vikings’ was altered by costume designer Martin Baugh who saw the Martians as huge, lumbering creatures in armour. And so another monstrous legend was born. Plus, composer Ron Grainer.
