Is it the same width as a standard DVD case, though?

Does anyone know if the episodes included in the Complete Specials are in the Series 1-4 boxset?

Why are they not re-releasing the Blu-Ray versions I don’t know… After all I felt it was stupid that paramount could fit 6 discs (maximum) into a slim blu-ray packaging yet BBC couldn’t do it with either the specials or series 7 (both with only five discs) let alone series 5 & 6….

Since my original release boxset has fallen apart, I’ll pick this re-release up. 🙂

There’s nothing wrong with the ‘classic logo’, which isn’t really the classic logo, it’s the main logo. Doctor Who adopted this logo as the main one before it came back in 2005. When it did come back, they used the new logo they had made, but now that the first revival seasons are older, they can use the main logo with it, like they have before. Only a very small amount of classic Doctor Who actually used the ‘classic logo’ in the show, and yet I’ve never heard a complaint about it being on all the classic merchandise.

5 Discs? Is that one disc per episode now (splitting the End of Time)?

As nice as these all look – I think I shall stick with the DVDs I already have. I need to get the specials boxset – so I am hoping the original design doesn’t get completely replaced by this one.

Also – in my opinion – the prices for these are ridiculous. Anyone with a single ounce of common sense will pick up the original boxsets for, what, possibly half the price for some?

Agreed. Far as I’m concerned, only these covers are new, and clearly just contain the same content you can get with the original releases being every episode of each respective series and the same special features from the original releases.

These covers maybe worth getting only if you don’t own the original releases.

Mmm – I also personally don’t like that they include the classic logo. I like the classic logo – in fact it could be my favourite – but they could have done monochrome versions of the correct logos.

Also – the top banner with ‘THE TENTH DOCTOR 2005-2010’, in my opinion, should say – if they are trying to parallel the classic DVDs – ‘THE DAVID TENNANT YEARS – 2005 – 2010’, though that’s just me.

Not sure why I am bothered, I’m not even getting them.

Looks identical to the original release apart from the logo.
