A 12 rating? Makes one wonder if this episode will actually be more serious than advertised….

Actually, THORS was PG. It was 12 on the unfinalised artwork before it got an official rating.

Considering that doctor who is at 5:45pm and it is 12 and ‘we are going on a beat hunt’ which is probably U is at 7:00pm – i think they need to re-think their schedule 🙂

Well the cover for this could also be unfinalised but it doesn’t say anything like ‘artwork tba’ or ‘not final’ or anything like that, so it could be a 12

“This Christmas sees The Doctor team up with a masked Superhero for an epic New York adventure.” Hang on I thought the Doctor could never return to New York after what happened in The Angels Take Manhattan, unless this is going to be another unexplained plot-hole.

      Yeah… well…. but….
OK, I admuttered there’s no argument I can produce for your statement. I think Moffat was hoping people forgot.

So he could see older Amy and Rory then? Illogical to me.
      My theory is:
That the Doctor can never see them again because the time potential isn’t there, literally time would drive him away from ever meeting them, even accidentally stumbling into them can’t happen as the potential energy for it to happen isn’t there.
Obviously Doctor Who has physics that as a human race we haven’t learnt yet so I like to think a scientific idea to time travel is just that everything is down to energy. Like if you drop a ball the gravitational potential energy for it to hit the ground exists, I like to think in Doctor Who the science behind time is similar, the potential energy has to be there for the said event to occur. So essentially, time is just energy that the Angels feed off.

Anyway, that’s my mad attempt at understanding Moffat’s brain…

I think the Doctor cannot go back to New York, until Amy and Rory die I guess.

This might be another Moffat plot hole so correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t it entirely possible for the Doctor to go to NY a few years after 1938, say 5 years later (1943), and land and meet the Ponds then, who won’t have aged that much, so they can continue travelling, then to stay within the timeline of them being dead in NY by 2012, bring them back to 1943 after they’ve had enough adventure.

      Just saying, it seems possible.

The Series 10 Box Set may not come out until January 2018 if they want Moffat’s last episode on it.
