Clara and the Doctor: Linked through time in the most impossible way!

Clara ‘Oswin’ Oswald: The Impossible Girl. She and the Doctor first met on the Dalek Asylum planet where she claimed to have been fending off Dalek attacks for a year, making soufflés – where did she get the milk and eggs? Oswin agreed to deactivate the forcefield around the planet, but when human the Doctor went to rescue her, he discovered the terrible truth. Oswin wasn’t a girl any longer, but actually an insane Dalek who, unable to cope with her conversion, had retreated into a fantasy world. Oswin fulfilled her promise of helping the Doctor, telling him to “Run. Run, you clever boy, and remember…” They will meet again… and again.

impossible-box_twinfinal580

The Doctor, appalled by his inability to save Amy and Rory from the Weeping Angels, retreated to Earth and hid himself and the TARDIS away from the Universe. Another chance but ill-fated meeting with Clara Oswald in snowy Victorian London pulled him out of his solitude and set him back on a new adventure…. to find the Impossible Girl!

Set details:

Presented here in the Impossible Set, together but apart, are the Eleventh Doctor in his iconic Victorian frock coat from The Snowmen, and Oswin Oswald, the Impossible Girl, in her iconic red dress from Asylum of the Daleks.

imposs5801

The Doctor’s outfit features his top hat and jacket with fur and brocade detailing. Oswin’s outfit is a one piece red dress with her soufflé-making accessory belt.

imposs5802

The set is presented in a unique double sided foil embellished SDCC collector pack with ‘peephole’ Dalek eye window on one side and a Victorian winter vista on the other.

The 11th Doctors head can be swapped with the aged 11th Doctors head from the Time of the Doctor set.

for those of you who hope that the waist coat is removable to be compatible with the TOTD set, the waits coat see in TOTD/snowmen outfit was different for the one in series 7b, so we would end up with a mix and match of 11th doctor outfit ad not a screen accurate variant.

Despite it being said 5″ was done these still arrive. It seems they are going to be getting the same sort of releases as classic doctor who, which is better as more time and effort is put into them

find it silly why they keep going from 5 scale to 3,75 scale figures all the time i now prefer them to stick with 3,75 for the new series

To me this seems like collector sets, and 3.75 inch are toys. Maybe these were made for collectors items!

    • booboo

      July 31st, 2014 - 12:27pm

      simple

3.75″ is the mass market toy line

5″ is the Undergound Toys collectors line

      July 31st, 2014 - 12:27pm

Same. These new figures are very expensive, I mean, for the price of this figure you could get the Pyramids Of Mars: Priory Set.

You can already get the old doctor from TOTD set.

    • The Other

      July 31st, 2014 - 12:24pm

But the old Doctor wore this costume in TOTD

    • Cyber lords

      July 31st, 2014 - 12:25pm

No there is a bit of a difference. As the costume is purple not brown.

    • The Other

      July 31st, 2014 - 12:34pm

Actually the only difference is the Bow Tie/Tie
If this costume appeared brown in TOTD then it is a simple lighting issue

No. The last figure released was about 5 months ago.

  • Nobody in particular

Really looking forward to getting this set! So glad we can have a 5″ Clara at last! One of the main things I hope is that the waistcoat and head are removable so it can be compatible with the Time of the Doctor set. We would have so many variant options then!

Loving all these new 5″ figures we’re getting!

This set looks amazing and I never thought we would finally get a Clara!!

As they’ve now sculpted her head and Capaldi’s let’s hope we get a 12th Doctor and Clara set soon…

    As for the complaints:
    1) These will be prototypes
    2) The picture is blurry and pixelated
    3) Until they are released there’s no way to know exactly what they will look like.

So if you aren’t keen at this stage then wait until release and reconsider then…

    Wish list:

  • Doctor 909

    July 31st, 2014 - 9:47am

Does anyone else see the possibility for what could come next? With this scult we could get a Name of the Doctor variant, a Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS (with a slight tweet to the hair), a Day of the Doctor variant (with a jacket sculpted on top) and maybe a few Series 8 variants (costume depending). I really hope we do get more Clara’s as well, as well this costume isn’t really casule or anything Clara Luke wear in series 7 pt 2 or series 8.

Well they could just make a PVC jacket and glue it on top (if they want to make money with a rough variant).

I know some people will hate me for complaining but here goes. Ok everyone is blown away that UT have made a clara figure and a doctor from the snowmen but they’re not looking at the detail on the figure. The 11th doctors head looks a bit like a biff bang pow figure, and a lot of people want it to be swappable but the old doctor wore a bow tie not a tie so it would still be inaccurate, and the only head you could put on it if you were to customise would be the young 11th doctor head. I hope some of you can understand.

    • Davidscustoms11

      July 31st, 2014 - 9:49am

Yeah but that’s not my point my point is that everyone is saying they want the head to be swappable and that wouldn’t match. And they may not improve the paint apps so there may not be much of a difference.

    • booboo

      July 31st, 2014 - 9:52am

this figure was probably never designed for this set a version was shown some time ago but presumable whatever it was intended for fell through

this may be the only way of getting it released as new tooling would be to expensive

beyond me all the negativity, all i hear day after day is bring back the 5″ and when they do its still not good enough

lets be honest if we went solely on promo images a lot us wouldn’t buy

    • DalekSec

      July 31st, 2014 - 10:50am

I agree with booboo we should just be happy with what we get now look putting aside all this negativity Were Finally Getting a Clara Figure! And The Eleventh doctor is well sort of a bonus item but at least its from the snowmen we could of got a rerelease 11th Doctor From That TRS Asylum set! I just don’t get what some people are complaining about it seems were getting 2 or 3 5inch sets a year AND were Getting The 3inch Figures As Well PLUS were Getting Peter Capaldi in 3inch now who cares what the size is? WERE GETTING HIM That’s what matters!
