Clara and the Doctor: Linked through time in the most impossible way!

Clara ‘Oswin’ Oswald: The Impossible Girl. She and the Doctor first met on the Dalek Asylum planet where she claimed to have been fending off Dalek attacks for a year, making soufflés – where did she get the milk and eggs? Oswin agreed to deactivate the forcefield around the planet, but when human the Doctor went to rescue her, he discovered the terrible truth. Oswin wasn’t a girl any longer, but actually an insane Dalek who, unable to cope with her conversion, had retreated into a fantasy world. Oswin fulfilled her promise of helping the Doctor, telling him to “Run. Run, you clever boy, and remember…” They will meet again… and again.

The Doctor, appalled by his inability to save Amy and Rory from the Weeping Angels, retreated to Earth and hid himself and the TARDIS away from the Universe. Another chance but ill-fated meeting with Clara Oswald in snowy Victorian London pulled him out of his solitude and set him back on a new adventure…. to find the Impossible Girl!

Set details:

Presented here in the Impossible Set, together but apart, are the Eleventh Doctor in his iconic Victorian frock coat from The Snowmen, and Oswin Oswald, the Impossible Girl, in her iconic red dress from Asylum of the Daleks.

imposs5801

The Doctor’s outfit features his top hat and jacket with fur and brocade detailing. Oswin’s outfit is a one piece red dress with her soufflé-making accessory belt.

imposs5802

The set is presented in a unique double sided foil embellished SDCC collector pack with ‘peephole’ Dalek eye window on one side and a Victorian winter vista on the other.

The 11th Doctors head can be swapped with the aged 11th Doctors head from the Time of the Doctor set.

The one thing that annoys me about this set is that it is released within a month of TTOTD set. I only just spent all my money on that!

Well you’re going to have to get used to it, they could be realeasing a whole batch of figures at bad times.

      August 2nd, 2014 - 2:58pm

There won’t be a ‘whole batch of figures’. The batches and waves of figures will be 3.75″. And ‘astronaut of death’, you’re missing the point. They could have released this now and then TTOTD set later.

      August 2nd, 2014 - 3:01pm

Well when the figures are ready there ready they can’t hang around for too Long.

Mabey that is why the Clara set was released after SDCC because it was not ready.

Is it just me, or do both of them look like 3.75″ figures? In that promo pic they just don’t look like they have the detail of the 5″ scale range. I’m sure it’s just a case of a bad promo pic, but I’ll still wait for more pictures before I order this.

It would have been really better (for me) if instead of Oswin they gave us Clara Oswin Oswald in Governess costume. These two characters are from two different episodes so it would have made more sense but I’m just glad we’re getting Clara in 5″ at all.

I like its a 5″ set but I would have liked it better if it was in 3.75″ because we are getting other characters from Asylum like amy, daleks clara would be better in 3.75″

    • Doctor Who Crazy Ross

      July 30th, 2014 - 8:16pm

      Sorry, I was rude wasn’t I.
I meant No, because everyone has wanted a 5″ Clara for ages, and finally we get one and someone wants it to be 3.75″… I feel as if I’ve already been cheated out of an Asylum version of Amy, so I think this set shouldn’t have been 3.75″ (especially with the 5″ Asylum Daleks we’re supposedly getting soon).

Woah… all of a sudden we get two series 7 Eleventh Doctors (with the added bonus of the first 5″ Clara figure) in as many weeks…. what happened to the ‘No More 5″‘… not complaining cos I quite like this set.

and the accessories that come with it…
And as if a Handles accessory wasn’t enough, we get a whole burned souffle!

Very tempted with this, more so than the single one, I like both outfits, but I think I’m gonna stop collecting them now, the line has grinded to a halt and I don’t think theres much of a future now, the only thing I would really buy now is a classic console set, this set is close to what I would have liked to have had, at least one doctor and companion (Hate Amy so no) but I cba anymore. Nice set though, might just get it for the packaging, sounds good.

      July 30th, 2014 - 7:43pm

Not Booboo, but I know several people have contacted FP asking if the price has been an error and as of the moment there has been no response to confirm if the price is right or wrong.
