Doctor Who TARDIS Playset with K-9 Figure

Doctor Who TARDIS Playset with K-9 Action Figure

From www.entertainmentearth.com

*Travel through time and space with the Doctor!
*Extraordinary TARDIS Playset based on the sci-fi TV series Doctor Who.
*Amazing interior features a detailed Master Control Console!
*Made of thick dollhouse-like cardboard in a retro 1970s style.
*Includes a bonus figurine of the Doctor’s trusty cyberdog, K-9!

This extraordinary TARDIS Playset is based on the ever-popular sci-fi TV series Doctor Who. It measures approximately 11-inches tall x 5 1/2-inches wide x 5 1/2-inches long when closed, and includes an opening door and a bonus figurine of the Doctor’s trusty cyberdog, K-9. The TARDIS’ interior is truly amazing with its transparent time rotor that can be raised and lowered, and the detailed Master Control Console that features various authentic controls and readout displays. In a retro 1970s style, the TARDIS Playset is made of thick dollhouse-like cardboard, and scaled for a Bif Bang Pow! 8-inch Doctor Who figure (not included). Magnetic strips ensure that the playset walls snap closed when you’re traveling through time and space.

In Doctor Who, the BBC’s long-running, award-winning sci-fi television series, TARDIS stands for Time And Relative Dimension In Space. It looks just like a wooden Police phone box from the 1950s on the outside, but is of infinite proportions on the inside. This incredible time machine is piloted by the Doctor, a mysterious Time Lord, and is able to transport him anywhere through time and space, disappearing in one place and reappearing somewhere new.

The Doctor’s (and humanity’s) best friend, K-9, is a robotic canine that was first introduced in the Doctor Who story arc “The Invisible Enemy.” Since then, he’s been an enduring (and endearing) companion over many years to several Doctors and has also appeared in two spinoff series.

Interesting. The ‘card’ construction makes me a little hesitant, but I look forward to seeing it when finished.

Personally, I don’t like it, I’d much rather see Character Options create a proper classic series style Tardis Console Room rather then this. I actually uploaded a video talking about the very subject of a classic series Tardis playset back in July 2010. Please do check it out – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5rs0PEZ4wE&feature=channel_video_title

It’s for figures 3″ taller, but you may be able to *just* get away with using Character’s 5″ figures, though don’t expect much detail out of the console room as it is a retro styled item. Still cool, though.

First, I want more Series Six !

And if they do make a Tardis console room, let it be from the Story Logopolis, with taht fold-out computer screen.

      It needs to be interactive.

AND there should be more than one available, not jsut the one Tardis console. There was Jon Pertwee’s, Peter Davison had the old 70’s one to start, and got a completely new one which we first saw in the Five Doctors. πŸ˜‰

But I really hope we can get more Series six figures, which we DO need ofcourse. Not really worried about there being a Console room yet. πŸ˜‰

I’d like to see the fourth doctor “secondary control room” one with the wooden panels that he used between the Masque of Mandragora and the Talons of Weng-Chiang.
