Doctor Who: Tales of Trenzalore (Kindle Edition)

tales-trenzDoctor Who: Tales of Trenzalore (Kindle Edition)

As it had been foretold, the armies of the Universe gathered at Trenzalore. Only one thing stood between the planet and destruction – the Doctor.

For nine hundred years, he defended the planet, and the tiny town of Christmas, against the forces that would destroy it.

He never knew how long he could keep the peace. He never knew what creatures would emerge from the snowy night to threaten him next. He knew only that at the end he would die on Trenzalore.

Some of what happened during those terrible years is well documented.

But most of it remains shrouded in mystery and darkness. Until now. This is a glimpse of just some of the terrors the people faced, the monstrous threats the Doctor defeated. These are the tales of the monsters who found themselves afraid – and of the one man who was not.

(Tales of Trenzalore documents four of the Doctor’s adventures from different periods during the Siege of Trenzalore and the ensuing battle:

Let it Snow – by Justin Richards
An Apple a Day – by George Mann
Strangers in the Outland – by Paul Finch
The Dreaming – by Mark Morris)

it’s not just kindle, it’s the e-book format in general. print it and i’ll buy it, as i say e-books give me migraines so this new trend to e-books is very annoying, especially as i’ve collected who books for over 30 years!

Looks like his Trenzalore adventures were cooler than most of the 11th Doctor’s episodes actually made and shown!

Am I the only one who is kind of bothered by the fact that the amount of time 11 spent on Trenzalore is the same amount of time the doctor was alive prior to 11?

This will be available as a digital book, so all version will be covered Kobo, Epub, etc it just so happen Kindle are quick off the mark for pre orders. Although ive never seen the point in pre ordering Digital media, as I can buy it on release day and get it. Its not like a book that could be despatched earlier.

Hurrah! Some of the best classic monsters! The Mara (from Deva Loka – the one on Manussa was black), The Krynoid, The Autons (From the aftermath of the Time War when their homeworld was destroyed) and Ice Warriors (from Skaldak’s era)

Why didn’t they use the sock puppet Mara for the cover instead of the CGI one? It would have been much more nostalgic, but mind you, modern Doctor Who doesn’t try to be.

There’s free Kindle apps for PCs, iOS, and Android. There’s even some third-party apps that can read the format.

Pretty sure a bit of the synopsis is wrong.

It says the Doctor defended Trenzalore for 900 years.

I’m certain it was only 300 years.

It was 300 years the first time, but by the time he almost had no hair, it was 900 years apparently.

I for one am certainly getting a bit confused as to how old he is meant to be. Perhaps when the show comes back in the Autumn things will be made a little clearer. For now I’ll stick to the premise that The Doctor lies!

why shouldn’t they, they keep returning to ALL the past doctors in other books and audios what makes this so different

    • emby2

      January 15th, 2014 - 4:58pm

Merchandise of a doctor always continues until the next doctor’s first episode, it’s the way it’s always been. David Tennant’s last episode was 01/01/10 but the audios/comic strips continued until april when Matt Smith debuted.

The new doctor’s novels usually arrived a month or two after his first episode.

Because the authors who’d write the books would have no idea how the Doctor would be played?
