I’m hoping that someday we’ll get rereleased editions of series 8 onwards that match the series 1-7 rereleases. It’s why I haven’t bought any Capaldi yet.

I’m fine with the wait, however long it may be. Physical media isn’t going anywhere yet.

Sorry to point it out, but there are a few mistakes on that list. Series 5 Volume 2 was episodes 4-6, Series 5 Volume 3 was episodes 7-9 and Series 5 Volume 4 was episodes 10-13, and also, The Snowmen was part of the Series 7 Part 2 Box Set. Other than that, very comprehensive list.

The ‘part’ releases for series 6 and 7 had to seperate cases/volumes inside the cardboard sleeve. But were stated as series 6 part 1a and 1b and so on. So series 8 is the only one to not have the series released in volumes. Which is now changing.
I have made some series 8 part covers somewhere will post a link when i find them!

why didn’t the BBC just stay with in the volume discs because up to series 7 they are all volumes and then they release series 8 and it is really thin then series 9 was 2 parts and then the boxset was big again and series 8 was slim!!! and americans make their covers way better then ours!!!!

Very random release. Is it because they released Series 6,7 and 9 in two parts they feel they have to do the same with series 8 ? What I will, say though is nice cover, looks as though all the region 1 discs have better covers

They’ve done it with each series in America so its not random at all

I think this is just a torturous reminder that there’s no new season this year.
