My opinion on this item (The price is how much I got it got new and sealed):

Series 10 Part 1 DVD – £14.99 – 8.5/10: To my surprise, I got this! Very nice shine-in-the-light slipcase, epic art cards (better than part 2) and nice box set all together including my second favourite episode ever: Smile!

Seems a bit odd to be doing this over a month before, I understand they want people to get it but, maybe they could have waited or at least along with it annouced the first 6 ep titles ?
Besides most of us will just wait until the whole series boxset is out

The time of the Doctor, Matt Smith’s finale, isn’t on a boxset and had its own release. I think the same will happen for Capaldi. We will get season 10 box before Xmas and his finale in Jan 2018 as a stand alone.

The Time of the Doctor was released as part of the 50th anniversary limited collector’s set along with Day of the Doctor, also, the 50th and Time are referred to as The Specials in the Matt Smith Years bluray set.

Although they really should do a standard release for the 2013 specials, there’s enough extras around those episodes to produce an official boxset.

Also…if they did release a S10 boxset this year it’ll probs be in November, a month before Capaldi’s final episode. It makes more sense to wait 2-3 months more so the special can be included. Remember when they tried to release series 7 in the UK without The Doctor widow and wardrobe? People backlashed until it was included. The same will probably happen again when they announce s10 boxset. Collectors hate single releases inbetween their DVD boxsets.

does anybody know when we are getting the complete Series 10 boxset and if so weather it will included The Return of Doctor Mysterio?

or will they wait till early 2018 and have the Series 10 complete boxset which is The Return of Doctor Mysterio to 2017 Xmas episode

Nothing concerning the complete set has been announced but it probably will contain TRODM. Also it makes sense for the set to include capaldi’s final episode too so 2018 is a more likely release date yeah

Agreed! I’m sure they will release the Christmas Special 2017 in very early Jan 2018 as a standalone DVD to cash in a bit more. We can then probably expect end of Jan/early Feb 2018 for the Full Boxset with both the 2016/2017 Christmas Specials. Leaving the way open for the 11th. Season 12 episode run for the new Doctor & Christmas Special 2018 for a Full Boxset release early 2019.

I think it highly unlikely that they would delay the series 10 boxset until after next Christmas. I think Capaldi’s final story will get the usual single release and be a ‘bonus’ on the series 11set.

The 2017 special will deffo get a single release, like all Christmas specials before, but it doesn’t make sense to include a Doctor’s and showrunner’s final story with the following series featuring a new Doctor/showrunner.

That would be like calling Tennant’s final episodes apart of Series 5, when they’re definitely not, and including those 5 episodes with the Complete 5th Series DVD

I would love a Boxing Day release

The Complete Series 9 box set contained Last Christmas AND The Husbands of River Song, so I’m really hoping the Complete Series 10 set contains both The Return of Doctor Mysterio and Capaldi’s last episode (2017 Xmas Special)

Am I missing something here? I sincerely hope this isn’t another split season, especially if they are giving advance promotion on a Part 1 set. This doesn’t bode well at all!

They did the same with Series 9, split the season in half for make two vanilla DVD sets. The series itself will still air weekly, all 12 episodes

It’s instead of releasing 4 different DVDs I think. Because Series 1-4, before the Complete Collections were released they released 4 Volumes.

Series 5 also had the 4 single volumes released

Wow, an extremely dull Cover. The final version will probably have that mist from the teaser with all the monsters in the background. And that’ll be the Cover. I’m calling it.

I hope it’s a variant or enhanced version of the epic scene in the “A Time For Heroes” trailer where they’re walking through the corridor with explosions behind them!

Why? And why are you commenting on a post about Series 10 DVD when you haven’t watched Series 7B-Now?

Look a thing all the others previous covers, they are most likely hiding some monsters or waiting to finish it off, the finished will be much better, as they all are.
