Doctor Who: Revisitation – Volume One
Revisitation Box set with updated special features to include the classic stories The Talons of Weng Chiang, The Movie and The Caves of Androzani.
The Talons Of Weng-Chiang: In this feature-length adventure set deep in the darkest heart of Victorian London, the Doctor and Leela are confronted by a series of bizarre and horrific events. An innocent cabbie is viciously slain by the agents of a secret Chinese cult; young women disappear quietly and suddenly; in the depths below, the rankest sewers are infested by giant, deadly abominations. The Doctor, helped only by the local pathologist Professor Litefoot and the cowardly Henry Jago, finds himself battling for his life against the hideously deformed Magnus Greel, who pretends to be the ancient Chinese God, Weng-Chiang. But Greel is not the only menace; the Doctor must also deal with the illusionist Li H’sen Chang and the murderous dwarf Mr Sin before Leela falls prey to the Talons of Weng-Chiang.
The Caves Of Androzani: Captured for arms-running on the mining planet of Androzani Minor, the Doctor and Peri are under sentence of death. Then a mysterious masked intruder comes to their aid. But is Sharaz Jek, master android creator, really their saviour? The rulers of the planet are certainly desperate for his head. Then again, he does control the only supply of Spectrox and it is this substance which men are prepared to die for…
Doctor Who: The Movie: It is December 31st, 1999. But will the World survive to see the 21st Century? Deep in the heart of San Francisco’s Chinatown, a young boy is about to lose his life in a hail of bullets. But the gunfire finds a different target – a stranger who steps out of a British Police Box. Dr Grace Holloway does all she can but cannot save him or understand the mysteries that surround him. Who is this unknown traveller with two hearts? Why has his body disappeared? And who is the madman who appeals for help; claiming to be both the dead man and a time traveller known only as the Doctor? Elsewhere in San Francisco, another time traveller is on the verge of death. For the Master, the Doctor’s oldest adversary, survival entails taking over the Doctor’s newly-regenerated body. Meddling with the heart of the Doctor’s TARDIS he condemns the Earth to destruction at the stroke of midnight, December 31st. As the crowds prepare to celebrate the Millennium, Grace is caught in a desperate race against time to help save the Doctor – and mankind…

-2001. And things have gone forward a great deal since then. Thats why you might think the Arc In Space deserves a rerelease. It was surprisingly worthy a DVD for one so old, but since then, Dr Who is back on televison, new series, speaking of which STEVEN AND RUSSEL (moffat and T Davies) have said the Ark in Space is more or less tehir favourite of teh classic Dr Who stories. I can see why (
) but I dont think there should really be a FAVOURITE story to Dr Who, personal favourites suit better, but thats not to say all of them have appeal.

I was reading DWM 2E what they had to say about this set, why they wanted to REVISIT these stories on DVD. And after reading that I have to say that those of you who say things like “oh, whats thepoint, ock Ive already got this, why cant teh ymake episodes that arent on DVD already?!” are compleltely ignorant and spiteful. It made me realise that those incharge at 2Entertain often have some complex decisions to make, and theyve chosen for the right reasons
.The episodes Rereleased here, were infact the VERY FIRST to be on DVD, in…

Its mom and dad’s wedding anaversary today and when its a special day I always get some sort of gift and today I got The caves of Androsarni DVD. Definitly not getting the box set now because the only reason would be to get the movie and that would be TRIPLE THE COST for one DVD!!!That would be pointles to buy three DVDs for only one and waste money.
Posted by: Angel Tim October 22nd, 2010
I was thinking of getting the box set with the talons of wenchiang, the caves of androsarni and the movie but Dads already got the talons of wenchiang!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was thinking of selling one copy but mom and dad said that it’s cheaper to get the caves of androsarni and the movie seperate so for xmas I’m getting exactly that with some other stuff.
Copyed this from the cybermen box set review page.

I had to get the COA for krismis last year . The planwas to get all the 6th Doctors era (at the time didnt have TOATL but later that year I orderd it offa Amazon, so the plan fell into place
)so I would need to start off with seeing Davisons Doctor regenerate, then endure the frankly outrageous Twin Dilemma, the DVD was very informative and intresting however But I will get the new edition still, the story deserves a proper DVD . And the Movie, the main attraction. Both offa ebay, sold seperat

Aw man! I’ve already got the old ones of these!
Posted by: McGann is the Doctor. October 10th, 2010
We do DEFINATELY (yes yes we do
) need a REVISIT to Vengeance on Varos. Not only because the picture quality seemed a bit off, kinda blankish-pale, like the brightness was far too high on the TV set or something. But also because we never really got to learn the formation behind this moraley-story. People know it has a message on “video nasties” but it doesnt always quite sink in, nor is there a clear understanding by the tales end. So what do the writers/producers have to say about that?! Come on 2E this is a mission perfect for you!
Posted by: weirdo October 8th, 2010
oh come on i jsut bought the movie and when i do it comes out with classic episodes to
Posted by: Anonymous October 4th, 2010
Ive just bought this and its amazing i love the new special features
Posted by: McGann is The Doctor. October 3rd, 2010
Yes it keeps on occuring to me, which DVD releases really should be redone?! Some said The Ark In Space, but I watched it today and its LOADED I tell ya, twould be a waste. Specially when we got some horrendously underperforming and hideous unbearable unsophisticated and most of all, UNFULLFILLING DVDs like Robots of Death, Spearhead from Space, and another VERY old DVD release which isnt too bad but the episode still deserves better, is Vengeance on Varos. The cover is one of the worst, wait I take that back, the worst is Robots of Death.

Good quality is well good
Posted by: Gordon October 1st, 2010
couple of things i want to point out 1. Picture and sound quality have been vastly improved 2. Its an extra release so it does not affect the scedule and if it did we would not have got seeds of doom this month 3.Its not £50! its only between 28 quid and 30 quid online which works out round about 4 quid a disc 4. volume 2 will contain seeds of doom carnival of monsters and resurection of daleks according to the zeta minor wbsite5. They are only doing 3 sets and 6. They are planning to finish everything by 2013 reguardless of these sets

Talons of WC in this set has three discs, since its a six part story and the giant new special features, the third disc is the original release of this story. Must be for a little comparison, to see why they HAD to do this Boxset and that no oppurtunitys have been wasted concerning that some cherished storys have been made as AWEFUL DVDS, this was ofcourse before 2E took over, and the Special Features became more sophisticated/relevant and more to do with the story. But I think I could still have the Movie for nmy BDay, seperately, from ebay.
Posted by: who crazy! September 8th, 2010
Yeah the movie is dun dun durrr! 12!
Posted by: geronimo September 7th, 2010
The movies a 12
Posted by: C@A September 6th, 2010
Why’s it rated 12? Because of the special features I guess
Posted by: geronimo September 5th, 2010
Iv got those 3 episodes in the dvd files
Posted by: Trial Timelord September 5th, 2010
You can get Tomb of the Cybermen online for roughly £6 on amazon, free delivery. £35? thats far to pricey
Posted by: Callum Metcalfe September 5th, 2010
Thanks but I found it on Amazon at £5.86 getting it later!
Posted by: KORSAIR September 5th, 2010
@CALLUM….Check out you’re nearest HMV, mine was recently selling Tomb of the Cybermen for £9, how’s that for value?
Posted by: Callum Metcalfe September 4th, 2010
If they do tomb of the cybermen in 1 it’s a definate buy,I never ever see it apart from in who blackpool at £34.00
Posted by: who crazy! September 4th, 2010
Wow i didnt even know that
Posted by: McGann is the Doctor. September 4th, 2010
Woah, thats amazing. I read all about this set and the amount of Special features truly is unbelievable, collossal, and utterly UNSURPASSED. There are a number of episodes which didnt get the DVD release they deserved, but TOWC has three discs, thats mad! Im gonna try get the Enemy within and COA seperately on ebay, £50 or so would still be a worthy price for this whole Box-set, if you dont mind or have an alternative, like I do.
Posted by: booboo September 4th, 2010
As it was for the big screen they wanted someone who would be immediately recognised , Peter Cushing was a very well respected back then ( and still is).
Posted by: who crazy! September 4th, 2010
Sorry i meant to say do anyone of you know why hartnell wasnt used in the two dalek movies?
Posted by: who crazy! September 4th, 2010
Posted by: D0ct0r11 September 4th, 2010
@Geronimo12!!!!! It’s the 1996 Paul McGann T.V. Movie. I certainly don’t count Peter Cushing as the Doctor. And I most definitely don’t count it as canonical.
Posted by: cardclashershub September 3rd, 2010
looks great
they’ll probs do 5 boxsets. 2 3 and 4 seem a bit odd.
Posted by: who crazy! September 3rd, 2010
I would get this but ive already got the talons of weng chiang
Posted by: m.j who September 3rd, 2010
cool im adding that to my x mas list
Posted by: Geronimo12!!!!! September 3rd, 2010
Is The Mpvie Paul McGann Or Peter Cushing Oh And Should They Make A Peter Cushing Figure And Do You Count Him As A Doctor?
Posted by: Justininferno September 3rd, 2010
The Peter Cushing movies are certainly NOT canon. They are in their own category along with several stage shows. To date there have been 11 Doctors and they do not include Mr Cushing.
Posted by: KORSAIR September 3rd, 2010
@Joe, I don’t think the Cushing films (much as I love them) are classed as canon as he plays an inventor called Doctor Who and not “The Doctor”.
As for the revisitations boxset I’ll not be getting it as I already have all three stories.
Posted by: doctor-boy September 3rd, 2010
the flipping movie!
the 8th doctor
Posted by: Trial Timelord September 3rd, 2010
They should release all stories before doing this boxset
Posted by: booboo September 3rd, 2010
This isn’t the Cushing movies
Posted by: Joe September 3rd, 2010
Are the cushing movies canon?
Posted by: monster01 August 31st, 2010
there will be 2 more box sets like this one about next year
Posted by: Callum Metcalfe August 31st, 2010
What DVD’s would you recomend me to watch,I mean I have loads so what would you

So volume one will have ‘Talons’ , ‘Caves’ and ‘The Movie’ .
So how many other volumes will there be…and with what stories?
Stories I think need re-releasing are…’Tomb of the Cybermen’ , ‘The Seeds of Death’ (without ‘blue’ Troughton face on spine!), ‘Spearhead from Space’ , ‘The Three Doctors’ , ‘The Ark in Space’ , ‘The Robots of Death’ (with correct T. Baker face) , Resurrection of the Daleks’ , ‘Vengeance on Varos’ (with correct C. Baker face).
All these stories could do with re-releases as they all…
Posted by: blob blob August 24th, 2010
Because I already have the Talons of Weng-Chiang, but not the other two should i sell it and but the set, keep it and buy the set or not buy the set, but the two older versions
Posted by: monster01 August 23rd, 2010
“i wound rather they spent their time getting the stories we havan’t got yet”
so true y can’t the make ones like terror of the auton on dvd it only has a small pink line in it 4 a minute
Posted by: doc brown August 21st, 2010

check this out http://doctorwhodvdandvideo.wikia.com/wiki/DOCTOR_WHO_DVD_AND_VIDEO_Wiki#
Posted by: gary August 17th, 2010
now i think this would be a good idea when every episode has been released on dvd and every missing episode has been reconstructed as a cartoon like the invasion. then they can go re-releasing anything they like.
Posted by: riftsinger August 17th, 2010
i wound rather they spent their time getting the stories we havan’t got yet

Posted by: alex August 15th, 2010
to Tim Gebbels
1. since these dvds are hard to buy some pepole may not have them
2. the origanal relases lack extras so on the new dvd there will be lodes more!
Posted by: harry doolan August 15th, 2010
why do we need these i know that ive got tcoa you can get these on amazon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by: Tim Gebbels August 12th, 2010
I don’t understand the point of these. I could just buy the separate dvds for a sight less than 29 quid. Now if 2Entertain were to release the abridged omnibus editions which went out as repeats in the 70s and 80s, they would be interesting.
Posted by: alex August 12th, 2010
i hope they make a Revisitation box set
with the carnvail of monsters , vengance on varos and
ark in space
since i have not got any of them
unlike this one because i have all of these

I’ve got Weing-Chiang and Androzani both signed by the relevant Doctors. Should be fun trying to get the new ones signed by them too!
Posted by: booboo August 10th, 2010
Its listed and volume one, i think the idea of these is that there is more material and enhancements that can be added now that weren’t available when the originals were released.
Posted by: doc August 10th, 2010
Is this volume one? I heard there’s only going to be one each…
Posted by: blob blob August 10th, 2010
Same, i can probably get them of ebay after the release.
Posted by: Juddon Platoon August 10th, 2010
I’ve got the Talons of Weing Chaing already so I’ll get the other separate
