Doctor Who Remembrance of the Daleks Audio CD

Available to order from www.amazon.co.uk

An unabridged reading of Ben Aaronovitch’s novelisation of his classic 1988 TV adventure featuring the Seventh Doctor.

With unfinished business to attend to, the Doctor takes Ace to Coal Hill School in London, 1963.

The last time he was here, he left something behind – a powerful Time Lord artefact that could unlock the secrets of time travel.

Can the Doctor retrieve the Hand of Omega before two rival factions of Daleks track it down? And even if he can, how will he prevent the whole of London becoming a war zone as the Daleks meet in explosive confrontation?

Very nice use of the original Target art. Sometimes the art doesn’t work perfectly in the 12×12 CD format (e.g. ‘Carnival of Monsters’). Only issue is the Daleks on the left and right are not painted, rather photos. I don’t listen to the Target audiobook range, but it’s one of the best stories of the Classic Stories full stop.

The book is a lovely read, though I remember seeing a few spelling mistakes, although at the front is a note from the writer saying it was an attempt which I found very sincere. I will definitely be buying this.

My Doctor Who memories of this story are the reason I’m still a fan today! This was the first story I ‘taped’ religiously each week off the TV on its first broadcast. I remember a school field trip to Hadrian’s Wall and discussing with classmates whether ‘Mr Bronson from Grange Hill’ had actually died in episode 2 or not! I recreated the novel cover for an A level Art Project (It must have been awful as I got grade E) it was the first Doctor Who Video boxset I bought (when released with The Chase) and, for me, it represents the greatest era in the show’s history and the reason I rate McCoy as MY Doctor – apologies, a bit of a waffle, …..I love it!!!
