The Doctor Who Regeneration set is a beautifully packaged, limited edition coffee table book-styled collectors’ album including six DVDs and over 10 hours of Doctor Who footage.
The collection features each Doctor’s iconic regeneration episode; from the first Doctor played by William Hartnell, exhausted after battling the Cybermen to Jon Pertwee’s Third Doctor suffering from radiation that had been unleashed by the Great One (a giant spider); and from the spectacular transformation of the Ninth Doctor to David Tennant’s emotional farewell as the Tenth.
The set is adorned with superb photography from across the era and features detailed and informative accounts of each regeneration. And if that wasn’t enough, new to DVD is The Tenth Planet featuring the Doctor’s first regeneration – beautifully restored with the missing fourth episode now brought to life with stunning animation.
Utilising the original soundtrack, off-screen photographs and a short surviving sequence of the Doctor’s regeneration the episode has been now reconstructed in animated form, incorporating the restored version of the surviving sequence.

June 20th, 2013 - 12:49pmNo, they’re releasing it on its own DVD in the Fall sometime, but this is coming out first so anyone who orders it will see the animation before the rest. The biggest difference is that the singular DVD will have bonus features on it whereas the boxset are only he stories and nothing else.

June 19th, 2013 - 9:18pmI don’t see why not. This is the definitive box-set of all the regenerations up to the fiftieth anniversary. I’m looking at this as a fiftieth anniversary collection, rather than a random set with many regeneration episodes.
Mine was dispatched today by the BBC Shop, so hopefully I’ll have it next week.

June 19th, 2013 - 6:17pmAccording to the Bleeding Cool report on the alleged cache of recovered episodes, one of the rumors is that the actual Episode 4 is going to be included in the set, not the animated one. I trust if there’s any truth to the rumor we’ll know in a day or so!

I am NOT convinced of that, having seen the actual regeneration itself as animation… I can’t see episode 4 reverting (as of course it absolutely should!) to the live action clip, think the whole lot will be animated, tho perhaps not for the November release… interested to hear your thoughts!

I’m in a dilemma. It’s my birthday soon, and I am stuck between this, The Key to Time boxset, and Dalek War.
Regeneration is a contender because it’s 50 anniversary special release, it’s limited edition, and I have only got 3 of the stories And I like the book! But I’m in Australia, and apparently it’s not going to be released in Region 4 according to Fred Frinstone (Yes, it’s spelt like that)
Should I import Regeneration although it’s Region 2 (which is compatible with my DVD player), get Dalek War, or the Key to Time?

They have all been released bar the 10th planet so to get the 10th planet u have to get this or risk dying before the single relsese.
and how is showing the last episode of each doctor gonna bring a new seris fan to classic who/ its like showing the last episodes of each seris of star trek.
but the book is fantastic and i wish they will re relise it on its own.

May 25th, 2013 - 8:37pmYes i get that ( i dont have any sontaron DVDs so im buying bread for war soon) BUT if the animation of the 10tyh planet is complete why not release that at the same time/ even without any special features it would still be better then release a special edition with special features later on in the year.
Secondly it is aimed for the new seris fan. i Get that but how will showing the last episode prove anything. They already no the ending and isnt worth getting the beginning? it is like getting the last page in books. do u get me now?
