WHSmith seems to be where people are buying it as when I went to Tesco one night and thought I should check if they have the yearbook in so I went to the magazine bit and there wasn’t any DWM specials the only DWM they had was the latest one with Jenna on the front but I got mine today from my second local WHSmith

This is a very good DWM Special, with some very interesting exclusive features and interviews.

For merchandise fans, there are articles on the subjects of Character Options toys/figures, BBC Books, BBC DVDs and Silva Screen Soundtracks. Here are some snippets about ‘the future’…
-Action Figures: Skovox Blitzer will be able to hang off walls (apparently). There’ll be a new Clara variant with a better likeness, plus new Cybermen variant included next year. Also Electronic Daleks (3.75″) that move along the floor, something to do with ‘sound wave’ technology. No 5″ stuff mentioned…oh, and there’s going to be something revolutionary and modern happening some time in 2015…
-Books: From February, new releases ‘every month’, starting with the ‘History Collection’.
-DVDs: ‘The Underwater Menace’ MAY come out next year…also something about the possibility of Classic Episodes becoming available as online downloads…
-Soundtracks: Series 8 OST scheduled for next year…

I guess this is the replacement for the “Series X Companion”-style editions they’ve done since 2005? Looks good to me but – like with the Companions – I doubt I’ll get it, and definitely not until I’ve heard how much Pixley there is.

I scan DWM in less than a minute, but that does not stop me collecting it. As for this year; best Doctor since Baker and some of the very best episodes of all time – Mummy/Flatline/Dark. One of the best ever years for Doctor Who. 1970, 1974, 1975, 1976, 2014…

I thought the same thing. A 2015 year book looking back at 2014? Really bizarre editorial choice.

Also, Jenna and Peter’s poses look like they’ve been weirdly manipulated in photoshop. Peter especially.

It’s following the same formula as annuals.

This sort of thing will always be named by the year ahead, partly so it won’t seem out of date to potential buyers in the first part of next year.

Don’t think I’ll be buying this as I was very disappointed in this years run of the show so don’t need reminding, in fact I’ve 4 issues of the regular monthly DWM lying unread and I never even bothered buying the October issue (missy cover) I honestly hope the xmas episode is an improvement on what we’ve had this year, no reflection on Peter Capaldi as his Doctor is excellent.

And Here. This is definitely one of the best seasons ever. Favourite writer has to be Jamie Mathieson (MOTOE & Flatline).
