Doctor Who Magazine issue 436

Doctor Who Magazine issue 436

DOCTOR WHO MAGAZINE celebrates the life of NICHOLAS COURTNEY in a special 100-page bumper issue, packed with rare and never-before-published photos, dedicated to the man who played Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart for over 40 years. Among those paying tribute to the actor who played the Doctor’s most trusted friend are former Doctors TOM BAKER, DAVID TENNANT, SYLVESTER McCOY and COLIN BAKER.

“Once you got to know Nick, you loved everything about him,” Tom explains to DWM. “We were a double act. I loved everything he did. I would have loved him as Othello. All other critical faculties were abandoned. You just couldn’t explain yourself. It was almost like someone saying, ‘What an Earth do you see in her?’ or ‘What on Earth do you see in him?’ Once you actually love someone, you just love being with them – and I loved being with Nick.”

in this issue it said that Matt Smith would be the “last incarnation of the timelord” they followed this with explaining about the doctors eventual death in The Impossible Astronaught 200 years away that will happen after Matt Smith stars in the 50th anniversary special. Surely he won’t be the last Doctor? The BBC would not bring Doctor Who to an end right in the middle of it’s prime? It is one of the biggest shows in the world and the BBC make a huge profit margin from it.

Got it yesterday. Fantastic read, even more so than usually. The tribute to Nicholas Courtney was great becasue it has all the people who worked with the actor on the series, even Sarah Sutton, they all agreed he was a gentelman. 🙂

Tom Baker was prbly his closest friend at the time of his passing.

It was upsetting when Tom Baker said he would be the next Dr Who to die in the interview. 😥

Like Nick’s, they decided to leave it for a bit to make it the best. They shall probably do the same for Liz. Hopefully it will be out in August time.

They also have just did a 2 part SJS Special…just before she passed away so I think besides having cast memebers pay their tributes, there not much more they can actual produce on SJS.
