Official – Doctor Who Included in LEGO Dimensions

From The BBC..

We’re delighted to confirm there’ll be even more ways to enjoy the world of Doctor Who very soon! That’s because iconic elements from the Doctor’s universe will be included in LEGO Dimensions, the upcoming entertainment experience that merges physical brick building with interactive console gameplay.

An official instruction booklet for LEGO® Dimensions shows that Doctor Who Characters will be included in the toys-to-life project. The 12th Doctor, Tardis and K9 are shown in the booklet.

A Doctor Who Lego set based on the Lego ideas entry should also be released later this year.

The game brings together different “universes” including The LEGO Movie, Portal 2, Scooby Doo, Jurassic World, The Simpsons, Back to the Future, The Lord of the Rings, LEGO Ninjago, The Wizard of Oz and many more.

I really loved Character Building, but having LEGO Doctor Who is far better, so I’m really excited! I wonder if the Daleks will be brick built- far more creative than just making a mould for it. K9 is brick built, and he looks great! We should also note that we must be very thankful for Doctor Who’s success in recent years, finally making LEGO Doctor Who have validity for a giant such as Lego- without such success it would just lose money, then there would be less Lego!

The Doctor looks brilliant, but I can’t tell where the level is set- some far off planet perhaps?

its a double edged sword though

Lego sets will be much more expensive, and i doubt we will ever see anything like the range of figures offered by CB in lego (and CB wave 5 was in development)

Doctor Who is now attracting the “big Brands” because of its (growing) overseas success.

If your a Lego and Doctor Who fan then this is great, but if you love lots of tiny little figures on you shelves i’m not so sure

Booboo, is there anyway at all possible that a petition could be made in order to get character options to actually bring out the would-have-been fifth series of the cb figures. There is still so many characters that they could introduce to their range.

I just feel that the cb figures look a lot better than the Lego ones. Plus the latter will be more expensive to buy, i know that cb sets were not cheap at first, but they would just look SO much better.

      Not really any point

A Licence has presumably been granted to Lego for construction toys so there wouldn’t be able to be any conflict so it would not be possible to market them anyway

Lego Doctor Who does not work! When they make Daleks, they are going to look ridiculous!

BRING BACK CHARACTER BUILDING!!!! They looked a hell of a lot better!

Except you can’t possibly tell what the Daleks will look like yet.

And, you can’t beat LEGO. It is the biggest toy company in world. CB was a knock-off as LEGO weren’t interested at first.

I beg to differ. Lego have always been totally uninterested in Dr Who as it was a tired little show in the UK that no-one was interested in. Hence a big company like CO taking the license on & making a tidy little sum. With pressure from Lego & them seeing those cash-tills-a-ringing around the rest of the world for Dr Who suddenly Lego got very interested (Nothing to do with avarice of course)

They may be the biggest company with the best product but you can expect to pay through the nose for that privilege now.

You say that as if they don’t already with Star Wars and the Disney multimedia empire as a whole.

      May 12th, 2015 - 7:08am

But Lego try to make them out of existing bricks. The good thing about CB is that they would make a new mould for a Dalek or a Weeping Angel skirt or a Cyberman’s head. They then use that over and over to justify the price of creating a new mould.

I thought top PC games were around £40 that a lego set with dimensions technology £50 + then the add on sets

this is about what i would expect

People used to CB set prices forgot how expensive Lego can be sometimes

I’d imagine it won’t take long for it to come down in price- Skylanders and Disney Infinity came down pretty speedily

Unfortunately this was much as I expected if Lego took the helm with Doctor Who. Forget single figure packs like CB at £1.99p & pay £15 for a 2-figure pack instead. Expansion packs at £30 for 3 or 4 figures & the Game pack itself at £95? The mark-up on this is way over-the-top & one of the many reason’s why I didn’t want Lego taking this franchise on.

    • MrHalloWho

      May 12th, 2015 - 7:10am

Look at Lego Minecraft for example. One of the most played games world wide, a very expensive franchise.

Then look at LEGO, the most used construction company in the world, very expensive.

When LEGO buys the licence for Minecraft, the sets start at £40-£100. That’s your birthday presents bought… for the next three years.

sometimes things are uploaded and searchable quite innocently even if they are not intended for use just yet.

Little did most people know (thank goodness) that the Paradigm Daleks were on full view for a couple of days ages before their design was officially announced

Originally wasn’t going to get this because I like Skylanders a lot have a big collection of 78. But now I have seen that Dr who will be in Lego dimensions. It looks like it’s Disney infinity 3.0 Star Wars. Skylanders 5. And now Lego dimentions that’s a lot of money.
