Having now had a chance to play with this properly… it’s fine for what’s it’s supposed to do, that is, make 1 figure at a time, which you can play with (for a few hours) until it begins to dry out (at which point it turns into a grotesque monster. My figure currently has a full-sized body and shrunken head DISTURBING).

The figure is fun to play with while fresh, but doesn’t last long, and you certainly can’t keep the finished pieces.

It does make a nice display piece though. I do recommend it (preferrably on sale).

Though don’t expect it to make ‘permanent’ pretty figures, because it won’t.

BTW, the box says from ages 3+. The powder/goo appears pretty safe, but I would think that children under the age of 8 would have difficulty in making the figures (the goo is tricky to get right, and the plunger can be quite hard to push).

The goo doesn’t appear to stain, and will still work if lumpy.

To summarise. It’s fine as a novelty only, or a display piece. I think it’s a little overpriced (so get it on sale if you can).

I think this set could have been improved, but it’s not bad. I don’t regret buying it though it could have been much better…

…The mangled/cracked/partially shrunken drying figures may frighten small children (I say this seriously, mine is currently *very* disturbing to look at). So parents might want to strip/discard the figures within 8 hours of their small child making them.

I totally agree! I bought this on sale a while back however I ended up selling it on again after just two weeks! Not suitable for younger kids – when dried the figures look quite zombie like and scary!!! :O

Just started messing with one of these… the goo is pretty hopeless, I’ve mixed this stuff up twice now, by adding the powder slowly to the water (as per instructions) and the second by adding the water to the powder.
The second way was better, but still horribly lumpy.

The first time the stopper flew out the bottom (I had it on carpet, which is a no no) and goo went everywhere.

Second time worked, but very difficult to push…

I’ll see how the figure comes out, but I think Character could have done a bit better job with this.

Anyone got this? I really want it, but not really for the make a ganger thing, although it’ll be fun to try that out, but more for the fact it’ll make a great display piece for ganger doctor and any other gangers that could be made, its also pretty big.

    • booboo

      August 2nd, 2011 - 7:45pm

no, and they shrivel up, there is enough powder to make 10+ figures but they dont last and dry out. my original one without skeleton frame is half the size it first was now

    • miss-who/MissDWGurliie

      August 2nd, 2011 - 7:50pm

maybe if you want to use it for display purposes you could put the flesh goo pod stuff in there. Bu it might be hard because that black top thing might get in the way. Plus you might break it
