Got this last week, a really good read, but it’s funny they describe it as an ‘unforgettable story’.

Since Hydroflax IS the Christmas Robot, Forbidden Planet SHOULD have just sent them anyway, if I were you I’d send a polite reply regarding that.

I have previously in the past & all you get is the Standard Auto Response from their Terms & Conditions. I don’t bother now, it’s just a waste of time!

I wish there was still a way to subscribe to this collection. It’s fun being able to select issues as a non-subscriber, but I’d be fine just going through the whole lot.

      easy enough to do

      This is the Christmas robot

      February 11th, 2017 - 1:52pm

As Anon says, there’s no need to do anything as Hydroflax is the Christmas Robot. FB will send it to you whatever it was called when you ordered it.

    • booboo

      February 11th, 2017 - 2:49pm

the problem is they still have a post for the “Christmas robot” which has sold out, and now a new post with stock available, so is the old listing and orders placed on it now void?

I think that’s what worrying people

    • Anonymous

      February 11th, 2017 - 4:29pm

Booboo is quite correct! That’s what is worrying people & I’m one of them. FP really SHOULD NOT put up listings for items for sale that they have no idea what they are? (ie) Everyone knew the Christmas Robot was Hydroflax & have ordered it accordingly. Now we have a NEW CORRECT listing what are we supposed to do now?

    • The Werewolf

      February 11th, 2017 - 6:38pm

The system should still count them. When two listings for the same Star Wars item were on, one sold out one not, they both happened, one was just a later batch. Maybe the same will happen here?

    • Anonymous

      February 12th, 2017 - 5:27pm

Unfortunately that is not always the case. FP have double-listed before with incorrect details & an Order I had on for several months got cancelled. I think my best bet is just to cancel & re-order when I put in my next lot for ordering.

Anonymous if you look at Photos from the show you will see that the Machanoid is roughly the same height as a Dalek to make it larger just for the hell of it would not be in keeping with the rest of the set,. Now if you were grumbling bout the size of The Beast from Satan Pit I would back you all the way. there seems to be a distinct lack of continuity of size with that creature at least.

It’s an incredibly recent story, you cannot take the stance that it’s unfair to leave early stuff with nothing covering it by abandoning newer episodes entirely. Now filling up the Eccelston/Tennant/Smith stuff I can understand not being popular when they are fairly well done already, but when it is a virtually brand new story then they need to have the chance to cover these as well.

Then again, as we have seen even when they do release Hartnell stuff there will be somebody complaining.

    • Doctor Mysterio

      October 16th, 2016 - 12:03am

I wasn’t taking a stance. With no new episodes this year except a Xmas special that is yet to air, I would expect some more classic stuff is all. It doesn’t mean exclusively.

Guys, Eaglemoss have announced it’s Hydroflax. Subscribers prepare to spend another 18 quid or however much the price has increased for something so poor. *Sigh* If its been ten issues, do something commemorative rather than a rubbish non-threatening villain.

The racknos (the runaway bride) wouldn’t be a bad idea or maybe those giant waspy ant things from William hartnels time, bugs are very intimidating when giant sized, director Peter Jackson does them justice.

    • Aries57

      October 21st, 2016 - 4:28am

The Decider I think you are referring to the Zarbi and The Menoptera from Mr Hartnell’s Fourth story of season 2 Either Of which would be welcome additions to the figurine collection.

I’d love to see a dalek saucer (new series), that would be badass for this collection. They’ve done star trek ships do this shouldn’t be a problem, maybe the new paradigm second emperor (the pink/purple one from the eternity clock game. My new paradigm dalek imperial guard would have something to guard then.

Robot Santas are too small. It will probably be that ridiculously terrible Hydroflax thing. Pity, I didn’t want to have to say no to a Special Issue.

    • Anonymous

      October 11th, 2016 - 6:34pm

Like chocolate in decreasing size, the last couple of Specials seem to get smaller & smaller. I wondered why they had done The Mire & really expected a much larger figurine of The Mechonoid? Although it weigh’s like a cricket ball I thought it would be hollow & larger. Then they mentioned the Christmas Robot & immediately thought Christmas Santa? Has to be Hydroflax or that clunky thing from Voyage Of The Damned?

    • The Werewolf

      October 11th, 2016 - 7:14pm

Neil Corry has confirmed it is Hydroflax.

Max Capricorn is a Cyborg not a Robot, but then so is Hydroflax, and would be just as bad a choice.

The small size of the specials is disappointing, but at least we know how big the Yeti special when they eventually get round to it will be.

  • Gareth Pugh

    October 10th, 2016 - 2:10pm

I’d like it if it was – but size-wise, I’m not sure those would warrant being a Special. Could it be the big red robot from last year’s Christmas episode?
