August 16th, 2011 - 7:36amthis book is so biased! it only features 2005 onwards! whether this is because a) there would have been too much too write b) the BBC doesn’t care about ‘classic’ who c) BBC books thinks all who fans only care about ‘newho’ or d)because Gary Russel doesn’t know anything about the original doctor who, if they are doing a doctor who encyclopedia for the ‘new’ series, they should do one for ‘classic’ who.
P.S. does anyone else hate the classification of ‘new’ series and ‘classic’ series?

August 16th, 2011 - 6:14pmNo! I think it’s fine they they are only focusing on the new series. This book is mainly aimed at people who started watching it from 2005 onwards. It would be good if it included some information about the classic series, but it doesn’t bother me that it doesn’t. The BBC does care about Classic doctor who. Just because this book doesn’t include that, doesn’t mean they don’t care about it! I can’t wait to get this book. The first one was amazing and I will be buying this when it comes out in shops 🙂

August 18th, 2011 - 3:32amChris said that he felt he couldn’t take the character of his doctor where he wanted to because the director(or whoever really)wouldn’t allow that he only joined because he was a fan of russels writing and not a fan of the show which he once claimed he was! However he is happy to have played a character so iconic!
Looks like he might not be coming back to dr who then if ever a multi doctor story was planned for 2013

August 11th, 2011 - 3:22pmThis only covers the 2005-present series! There was one released in late 2007/early 2008 with 2005-2007 stuff this will have that in and a whole lot more! A classic enclyclopedia should be released soon though and maybe they’ll make 1963-2013 in 2 years time for the 50th anniversary!
