This has quite a bit of classic series and AHOTUIA100W is mostly classic series. And no, it’s like DWM.

I don’t mind the cover actually. It fits perfectly for the book. Sometimes the cover isn’t what makes the book absoloutely fantastic e.g the Brilliant Book 2012 had quite an unexciting cover yet what was inisde was brilliant.

Very true, it’s the contents of the book that matters, not the cover.

I’m not trying to be negative or anything, but its annoying how, they produce a doctor who dictionary, which to most classic fans like myself would expect most info from the entire 50 years of ‘Who’ would be in this book, but then that is all quietly shoved aside, only to show the last couple of series’. I mean come on! Its a DICTIONARY. The English language dictionary doesn’t just hold only the latest words in existence does it. Rant over.

Did anyone know that the annauls are written by the same people who do Doctor who Adventures and recently Doctor who monster invasion! I don’t understand why the comic strips are coloured lighter in the annaul then in the comic. This book is probably going to be good but i don’t know if i’d get it.

The 2012 one was a bit of a let down! It relied too much on past episodes (mainly from 2005 onwards) and little Series 6 (although, to be fair, Series 6: Part 2 was yet to be broadcast when the annual was released.) My favourite is the 2011 one because it was fun, fresh and wasn’t just a book with puzzles and games in.

      Here’s what I think:

      2007 – Ok
      2008 – Don’t own it.
      2009 – Good!
      2010 – Great!!
2011 – Head Exploding!!!! With AWESOMENESS!! (my favourite :D) (Litteraly, my head was exploding cause I got so many facts and it was enjoyable lol )
2012 – HEAD EXPLODING OVERLOAD!!!!! With boredom and dissapointment.

The annuals have never really been anything special, ever. Even if you go back to the first one ever made (the 1966 annual published in 195) but back then there was virtually nothing relating to Doctor Who so it was brilliant by comparison, but since then much more merchanidse comes out and at a far higher quality but the annuals have remained the same.
