Just bought this today and It is absolutely Fantastic! Thoroughly entertaining and in my opinion, way better than Planet of the Daleks! Definitely one of the best classic stories I’ve seen in a long time 🙂 I got the beneath the surface boxset a few days ago and death to the daleks has washed the bad after-taste of warriors of the deep out of mouth! Utterly Brilliant!

Gosh, I have SO many stories to get on DVD.

I will be getting the Auton box set, Colony in Space, the Daemons, Day of the Daleks, the Mutants, the Green Death Planet of Spiders, Seeds of Doom, Android Invasion, The Hand of Fear, Nightmare of Eden, the E-space trilogy, I have all the Peter Davison and Colin Baker stories I want (that means I didn’t want Timelash, Four to Doomsday Kinda or Black Orchid, and I threw Warriors of the Deep in the garbage, it’s so bad I wouldn’t want anyone else to see it) ❗ and some 7th Doctor ones I want.

WARRIORS OF THE DEEP HAS A GOOD STORY. OK, IT WAS OVERLIT, THE MYRRKA WAS AN ILL CONCIEVED DISASTER AND SOME OF THE ACTING LEFT A LOT TO BE DESIRED,BUT THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BASE UNDER SIEGE PLOT. A BETTER DIRECTOR LIKE GRAEME HARPER WOULD HAVE MADE A BETTER JOB PERHAPS.INCIDENTALLY,APART FROM THE ROPEY MARA SNAKE,WHATS WRONG WITH KINDA OR FOUR TO DOOMSDAY.TWO OF PETERS BETTER STORIES I,D SAY.

I think the voices weren’t bad, it was the music for the Daleks that really spoils it.

Maybe in the early 70s the Daleks were just so scary, you were too busy hiding to notice the music 😉

Question, out of the Daemons, Face of Evil and Nightmare of Eden, which are you getting first or want the most or have already got ?

I want Nightmare the most, but have decided not to buy it till next year because I want to see the new Romana stories that are coming out from Big finish, then continue to the later Tom Baker stories because the last time I saw him I had finished the Key to Time season.

The Daemons, I’v read, is actually not all it’s cut out to be, it’s got great actors and is enjoyable, but not THAT good so I hear. ❓

THE DAEMONS HAS ITS FAULTS LIKE MOST CLASSIC WHO,BUT IT IS STILL ONE OF THE PERTWEE BIG HITTERS AND ESSENTIAL. BOTH EERIE AND FUNNY AND ONE OF THE BEST EXAMPLES OF WHAT THE SHOW COULD DO WITH A GOOD PRODUCTION TEAM ON A LIMITED BUDGET. NIGHTMARE DOES NEED RE_EVALUATING.STORY IS ORIGINAL,SLIGHTLY LET DOWN PRODUCTION WISE AND DEPENDS ON WHAT YOUR THOUGHTS ARE ON THE MANDRILS.I THINK ITS HILARIOUSLY FUNNY IN PLACES. FACE OF EVIL TOO IS FINE THOUGH IF ITS ALIENS/MONSTERS YOU WANT, ITS SOMEWHAT LACKING. I<D GO FOR THE DAEMONS FIRST AND WORK UP.

Greatest Show in the Galaxy, Ambassadors of Death and Planet of Giants should be out later this year, as will The Reign of Terror (with animation of the two missing episodes).

The rest without dates should be out in 2013 sometime, with the exception of The Tenth Planet. That is still not confirmed yet but it likely will be for the sake of completion.

I must have been unwell last night. I quite enjoyed Nightmare of Eden and the DVD commentary was very, how can I put it?, very frank indeed – it’s nice to hear those doing the commentaries being honest rather than some of the usual earlier commentary back-slapping, but I did feel sorry for Alan Bromly by the end of the commentary if what was said by Tom Baker was true. Roll on next month, it’s gonna be Ace!!

Dont know if any of you have heard what the plan for mind of evil is. Well Steve roberts of the restoration team has revealed that episodes 2 to 6 are being recoloured through the colour recovery process as chroma dots exist for them episodes. Episode 1 doesnt have the chroma dots necessary for colour recovery so they have hired Babelcolour (a well known youtuber) to manually colour in ep 1. http://www.kasterborous.com/2012/03/the-mind-of-evil-in-full-colour/

Greatest show aint ready to come out in june so they shouldnt release in that dates. Plus the dates are far too condensed in my opinion. Im thinking more something like this give or take a week or 2.

      July 2nd Krotons
      July 23rd Vengance On Varos
      August 13th Greatest show
      September 3rd Legacy
      September 24th Planet Of Giants
      October 15th Ambassadors
November 5th reign of terror (no new era box set to clash with in november this year plus its expected very late this year thats why im thinking november)

For the 40th they altered part of the H and O of WHO using the McGann 96 logo. I rather liked it, not everyone did. I think we do not want a new logo, but a clever modification to the Doctor DW Who logo. Assuming CO will still be outputting, the McGann logo is still active too, so that is two logo’s that might need modification.
