Information for anyone who reads this now with a view to purchasing:-
BE AWARE – there are two different versions / editions listed for sale on line. One which is region 1 only and one which is region free. Unsurprisingly the region free is 2-4 times the price of the region 1 edition. HOWEVER….

…there is in actual reality ONLY one version / edition that exists. Whichever listing you purchase you will end up with the same product. The dvd is region locked to region 1 and the Blu-ray Disc is region free. This is the case whatever you pay, wherever you buy it and whatever the listings happen to say.

I myself paid under £10 for a copy LISTED as region 1/A locked. As above the Blu-ray way region free and works fine in my uk blu Ray player.

Hang on, a ‘prequel to series 9’ – yet it comes out a few days after series 9 starts?

I think it’s safe to say people we will see this prequel elsewhere before the release of this dvd 🙂

Only if you want to watch it in 3D. Obviously due to seeing the case, we know that it comes with regular Bluray discs and DVDs also.

Looking at the box I think it’s 3d dvd & a blu-Ray. It’s like the 50th anniversary one I have its 3d but you don’t have to watch in 3d if u don’t want to

I should imagine those Special Features will feature with last year’s Christmas Special, on the Season 9 DVD Boxset when it’s released.
