This season saw the return of popular villain Sil, along with The Master, the towering robot Drathro and the plant-based Vervoid monsters. With The Inquisitor (Lynda Bellingham) overseeing the proceedings, it was The Valeyard (Michael Jayston) who proved the greatest threat, hiding his own sinister motives for wanting the Doctor’s downfall. All the episodes are newly remastered in high definition and include hours of bonus features, both existing from previous DVDs and newly created for this release.

Question about the set…has anyone else had this problem? Was listening to disc 5 in the surround sound the other day and episode 6 has about a 2 second sound drop out in it and misses a couple of words that Sil says. Checked on 2 set ups and 2 copies, in the process of returning one still to Amazon for destroying my packaging, and it is on both. Anyone else noticed? Does not do it on the stereo audio.

Not much longer to wait…Colin really is an under appreciated Doc. I wonder how much better his viewing numbers would have been if he had been given the freedom to dress how he wished…I vaguely recall him stating that he was wanting something similar to what the 9th Doctor ended up with.

I can’t wait until the US release of Season 21 or Season 4 (although that one will be unlikely any time soon). The people choosing to name them ridiculously will be confused with multiple Doctors doing the season (at least 21 is mostly Davison, except that one story, whereas 4 is both Hartnell for a few and Troughton for some).

I’m willing to bet Season 4 will be Troughton Season One, as he’s the predominant Doctor for that year.

Peter Davison Season 3 will most likely not have The Twin Dilemma on it as that will be moved to Colin Baker Season 1 for the USA release.

For William Hartnell they might bung The Smugglers and Tenth Planet onto his Season 3.

So glad I’m in the UK so I get the limited edition packaging and proper Season order.

Nah. For the U.S releases, Season 4 will likely be Patrick Troughton Season One including the two Hartnell stories, and Season 21 will certainly be Peter Davison Season Three including one Colin Baker story.

I agree-the seasons will be the same, for example it’s still Peter Davison Season Three, even though it features a guest appearance by Colin Baker in one story, same for Hartnell/Troughton in Season Four.

I really wish they offered an alternative cover with his blue outfit just for fun…I may paint over mine lol. Still have to watch Colin’s episodes in Black and White as that outfit drives me nuts…it’s like when Tom tries on different costumes in his first episode and he walks out of the TARDIS in a Mime outfit…only JNT didn’t possess the necessary tact or taste to send Colin back into the TARDIS for an acceptable outfit lol.

US editions are counting from each Doctor. The same was with Tom Baker, when it was called “season one”
