My order, dispatched on 12 September, is travelling via Japan according to the tracking. Not the most obvious route from the US to the UK, but so long as it turns up soon I’ll be satisfied.

It still looks dreadful, like a knock off custom for a 5” figure. It would probably be passable for a 3.75” quality figure. But for 5”? It’s a disaster. Why does it all go wrong every time Americans get their hands on anything Doctor Who? XD

I received mine in today’s mail. It was boxed up well, but the upper part of the card still has a slight bend to it. I haven’t taken the figure off the card, yet. Yes, it looks like a knock-off of the CO version. Not much good to say about it.

I’m not sure what it is, but there is something very “off” about this figure. Could be that it doesn’t look like Jodie Whittaker, but I don’t think it’s even that. It just looks strange. Glad I got my Character Options version of her already

Co still do figures just for b&m bargains these days.

As no one else will stock them due to the actor of the day having a year gap as they don’t appear to be able to get actors these days to fully commit to a TV series in the UK.

US TV still appears to be able to produce 20 or so episodes per year.

    • booboo

      September 11th, 2019 - 8:02am

Don’t nt think the gap year is anything to do with jodie

    • The Flying Shark

      September 11th, 2019 - 10:43am

The US TV industry is MASSIVE compared to the UK. It’s like they’ve got the Collection Blu-Ray box sets and we have VHS tapes. It really, really isn’t fair to compare the two.

    • Bobby Davros

      September 11th, 2019 - 1:27pm

Only a few genre TV shows manage to get out 20 episodes a year now. With the Netflix and cable stuff your lucky to get ten episodes every 12-18 months now. It’s the writing you cant rush.

    • Thetruth

      September 11th, 2019 - 1:37pm

Back in the day pre 1989 they used to make a new series every year mostly.

No TV show on air no shops will be willing to stock anything simple as.

    • Anonymous

      September 11th, 2019 - 3:11pm

You do realize that most of the new who series were actually roughly the same running time as classic who series. A 26 episode series in the seventies is the same as a 13 episode series in the 2010’s. The final 4 classic series were the equivalent of just 7 new who stories a year. As to the gap year, Jodie is actually working on the show as we type and has been for sometime. It’s scheduling not “commitment”

As someone has said us TV is vastly different to UK TV. Remember the master, that Peter capaldi had a year off as well. Are you having a go at him? Or is is it just Jodie you are calling?

I keep emailing Toots to see the status of this odd figure and ive have the same messages a few of you have had too . the last one was at the start of last month saying its in customs awaiting clearance,… but no email since then, so i have messaged Toots this afternoon to see what’s what. i am beginning to think it has been cancelled too if i’m honest…

and way over any time for any Paypal claims as well

I feel like going on a social media name and shame campaign to be honest and I’m not blaming toot’s toys here i think they are just as much a victim.

Someone from BBC licensing need to step in

    • The Outcast

      August 18th, 2019 - 12:32pm

As I’ve said before, I think the US distribution license needs to be given to someone who’ll partner with CO. Seven20 have done next to nothing with it, the only thing I can remember them releasing is that Sonic with the spinning crystal and a plushy with a cup or something.

Figure and toy wise, I really just wish they’d give the license to someone who’ll distribute CO’s stuff, like before the whole Underground Toys Funko buyout. Have it so everyone has the same figures.

Does this figure come with removable coat then? Only in the photos, some unopened figures haven’t even got the coat?

Also, if this is exclusively for the American market, why has the packaging in French as well? Canada too maybe?

I contacted George Toot a few days ago and have yet to receive a reply, which as you say is unusual for him. I haven’t received any notice of cancellation, either. Not sure what to think at this point.

      June 26th, 2019 - 10:11am

He did reply and they said they had “been trying to get hold of seven20”, emailed again today so see what they say.

I feel sorry for George Toot – he has been let down by the supplier. Unfortunately he still has had no confirmation of when stocks will arrive so has offered me a refund. After 6 months of waiting I have decided to take him up on that offer. I was never 100% about the figure in the first place.
