Same thing with ‘The Dalek Collection’, it’s a black-and-white Dalek as the cover.

I wouldn’t mind if the 50th anniversary tried to incorporate or nod towards these films, maybe a reference to a parallel universe? Cushing was an outstanding Doctor.

I’m not bothered. He still earns recognition whichever way he played the role.

The upcoming Playstation 4 will also have a blu-ray player, and is said to be a lot faster than the ps3’s. The ps4 will be far more expensive of course, but if you’re looking at getting a next-gen console anyway, you might want to wait and get that.

Wee hee! Looking forward to having these on blu-ray. These are wonderful movies.

If you haven’t seen them before they are a great watch. Just go in with an open mind, since these films aren’t ‘canon’ and have differences to the TV series. (Think of them as an ‘alternative history’ if you like).

When I first watched these I wasn’t expecting much… I ended up loving every minute of them.

Fabulous, very happy memories. Cushing, for me, is still a great Doctor and I’m glad he’s being honoured this year as the film Doctor alongside the series Doctors. If anyone has any doubts, don’t watch it as part of the series (though it’s obviously a film remake of the 1st Doc story) but just sit back and have fun watching it – you won’t regret it.

Well said! I always enjoyed the Cushing movies, and the I love the Daleks that appeared in it, very bright and colorful, but also tall and imposing!

Are either of these going to be in America? I already have the Dalek Collection on DVD and can’t find any news on an American release, but even so, sadly I might not get it.

I’m happy with the original DVD and have no plans to buy the blue-ray of them. Anyhow, theres only one extra which is an interview with Bernard Cribbins.
