Dalek Films Limited Edition Set (Blu-ray) – Updated

Dalek Films Limited Edition Set (Blu-ray)

DR WHO & THE DALEKS and DALEKS’ INVASION EARTH 2150 A.D

Available individually on DVD & Blu-ray Or as a Limited Collector’s Edition Blu-ray including both films

2013 marks the centenary of celluloid legend of film and TV great Peter Cushing, as well as the 50th Anniversary of the first appearance on television of the legendary Timelord.

To honour this, STUDIOCANAL are delighted to announce the release on DVD and Blu-ray of both the only cinematic incarnations of the Doctor’s adventures, suitably putting him against his most infamous foes, The Daleks: DR WHO & THE DALEKS and DALEKS’ INVASION EARTH 2150 A.D. Both have been digitally re-mastered and are available in HD for the first time.

These releases are accompanied by a host of specially created new extras including a look at the restoration work and brand new interviews.

With Peter Cushing, Roy Castle, Jennie Linden, Roberta Tovey

Directed by Gordon Flemyng and now fully restored, DR. WHO & THE DALEKS (1965) was the first big screen film adaptation of British TV’s most iconic sci-fi hero, and the first time Doctor Who was ever seen in colour!

British film legend Peter Gushing plays everyone’s favourite Timelord, and having invented the TARDIS, a strange machine capable of travelling into other dimensions, the Doctor and his three young companions set forth on a quest through time and space. Their journey takes them into the dark, undiscovered depths of the universe and to the planet of Skaro.

A primitive world devastated by nuclear war and populated by two warring species, a peaceful tribe known as Thais and a life form heavily mutated by radiation, encased in protective machines. A merciless force of destruction known as The Daleks!

  • Audio Commentary with Roberta Tovey and Jenny Linden

Directed by Gordon Fleming and now fully restored, DALEKS’ INVASION EARTH 2150 A.D. (1966) stars Peter Gushing in his return to the big screen as British TV’s most iconic sci-fi hero, Doctor Who.

The earth of 2150 AD is a desolate and hostile ruin of a planet, crumbling at the edge of civilisation, slowly disappearing into the darkness of space.

For the future of planet earth now belongs The Daleks, a destructive arm of alien invaders who have turned the human race into cowering slaves.

Meanwhile deep within the London Underground a group of resistance freedom fighters are planning an attack. But there’s only one man who could possibly help them succeed in destroying their extra terrestrial enemies and take back control of planet earth. A man of mystery, a man of time and space, a man known only as… The Doctor.

I don’t really think they should be labeling it as a Doctor Who feature film but I’d still be keen to get this as they are great films

nope, this is the only edition they will release and like i said below, this is an extremely hard to find set. There are however, the 2 individual special editions of these that you can find on the DVD section on this site.

people this is going to be an extremely hard to find set, as the only places that haven’t sold out are sainsburys entertainment and Zavvi (although the latter is £8 more) When they say limited they mean LIMITED! So anyone who wants this i would pre order it from one of these websites before they run out like amazon!

Looks like zavvi have sold out as well as it’s no longer listed. Just ordered from Sainsburys. Get this soon if you want it otherwise you’ll end up paying twice the price or more on eBay! You have been warned!!!

not heard of the 1p charge before

I you order something from these places usually they usually dont take the payment until the item is shipped so there is no contract made in case they cannot supply or get the price wrong..
many banks actually deduct the payment of the item from you balance so you cant spend it even though the company does not have your money so there is no contract.

    • drjakeyoung

      April 30th, 2013 - 10:25am

yea, they usually earmark it. Also, because they do a fee UK delivery, it comes in about 3-5 days of release, is there any way to pay extra and get them sooner?

Is there going to be a normal release for this box set and not blue ray! And how much money will it be for this release in Australia? I love the dalek movies and the dalek invasion of earth movie was awesome and to see the early dalek storys in colour is great even though the colour of the daleks are wrong and its a diffrent story line and different doctor and companioms! Great series highly recomended!
