Be one of the luckiest creatures in all of time and space wearing your nothing but the best (Made in Britain) Twelfth Doctor’s Black Velvet Frock Coat!

Officially licensed by Doctor Who

  • Manufactured in Britain by Private White V.C.
  • Made with the softest, most luxurious Italian black velvet
  • Quality lining color matched from original fabric
  • Two inside pockets + a secret pocket seen in original coat!
  • Replica buttons and extra long buttonholes

Whether you’d like to top up a stylish outfit or sport a more casual look, the Twelfth Doctor’s Black Velvet Frock Coat will do both! Made for us by over a century old British manufacturer, only the finest yarns, trims, materials and techniques are used.

Handcrafted using the softest, most luxurious 100% Italian cotton velvet, this single breasted Victorian coat instantly states style and comfort at the same time, making you feel extraordinary (and maybe a little more strange and alien than you’ve felt in awhile)!

You’ll find this version pays particular attention to detail, as witnessed on the original coat in Doctor Who. From the collar to the back vent, the Twelfth Doctor’s Black Velvet Frock Coat is filled with surprises!

This minimalist period piece has a smooth front, devoid of seams or pockets of any kind, while the back has princess seams which give the coat fit, fullness and flare. Yet the flair doesn’t stop there! There are three custom buttons on the front and four on each sleeve. Inside the coat you’ll find set into the blue lining, two welted pockets (one for sunglasses and one for a Sonic Screwdriver perhaps)! Even more enticing is the color matched lining and how it’s sewn into the coat, close to the edge like a rebel Time Lord.

But wait! There’s an extra surprise found within the lining of the coat…a third pocket…just like that found in the original! Did you know that? Smile! This little black pocket was used to hold the neodymium magnet in Series 10, Episode 2 securing the magnetic emoji badge on the outside of the Doctor’s coat!

Each one of these details was carefully thought out to mirror the Doctor’s magical personality. Try on your Twelfth Doctor’s Black Velvet Coat. Once you slip your arm through the sleeve, you’ll know how it feels to be alive for 2000 years…unforgettable! It’s a coat fit for a hero!

Please note that due to licensing restrictions AbbyShot can only ship this product to the following countries: Canada, U.S.A., U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, Middle East, and continental Europe!

Made in UK shipped abroad and then shipped back to the UK.

    Welcome to cloud cooko land

Maybe if the real company that made the just sold them in the UK it would reduce the cost and delivery times.

Then they would make their money back quicker but hey why would they want to do that.

I wish I could get DW costumes but they are too costly and I probably won’t fit into them – small man size & skinny.

For me, Abbyshot have always been a more cost effective method of buying coats and accessories than sites such as Magnoli Clothiers, hence my earlier interest in the product, but Magnoli’s coat is far superior, uses specific customer measurements and is really not all that more expensive than this. Really disappointed, I think Abbyshot will find interest in this coat dipped dramatically when the price was revealed.

I wonder if they kept a straight face when they typed out that price.

I’ll say this about the price – It is manufactured by Private White V.C. This seems cheap by their standards.

It is a massive shame Abbyshot don’t have some kinda payment plan, £600 (With VAT) is a massive chunk of change.

The best thing about AbbyShots’ Ability to provide spot on replicas, not the kind of “delicate” costumes, fragile, and rarely screen accurate that can only be worn at conventions. Their garments are just that, real garments. Can be worn on a daily basis. Plus well, Bonnie is such an artist at the details. In the past has been willing to go back and redo fabric as in the 11th doctors Purple frock… Now that’s dedication!

Loved my purple Matt Smith. This is the one I have been looking for. Have found some that are close, but this should be a really good one. Love the blue lining. This was actually my cosplay inspiration photo. Starting my coat fund now.

Also worth noting is that Abbyshot are using a different size system this time around. It’s not going to be S, M, L, XL etc it’s going to be 32, 34, 36 up to 50.

I’m excited for this coat, the other two Capaldi coats have been very good, although I know a few people weren’t happy with the red velvet, I guess I got lucky with mine because I love it.

Love mine too, wore it today to do the weekly shop – full outfit including the Palmer Lewin waistcoat. Picking up the Budd’s Capaldi shirt next week ready to wear with this and the red velvet!

Well, considering the quality of their red velvet coat, I am very sceptical about this…

Well as far as I understand, the reviews for their red velvet coat were very poor, with low quality in every aspect of the coat.

This time they’re getting a UK company to make the coat on their behalf so likelihood is the quality will be an improvement on the red velvet

So based in the USA with the default been $ I presume

So made in the UK shipped to the USA then shipped back to the UK when you order.

So who is the real company that makes it so people can order direct in the UK

      They are an international company

they ship from their warehouse within Europe for UK orders which has always been the case not the USA, they have clearly been able find a UK factory to make them rather than I believe India in the past so.

Here’s my take on these coats from my experience.

The navy blue crombie coat was made in China (see label), and is a good quality item apart from the hit or miss sizing and has very LONG sleeves.

Ordering the right size is critical, and you should understand that these coats are not really replicas in the true sense and won’t look as sleek and tailored as Peter Capaldi’s coats.

The red velvet version is very thin with poor lining and doesn’t compare to the navy blue version for quality and was made in India. Abbyshot withdrew it before the second run, had negative feedback regarding quality and went into denial over it ( see their Facebook page for example ) so you can draw your own conclusions.

I have both, and to be honest the 12th doctor Abbyshot coats generally need too much alteration to look accurate for the price of them, neither have shoulder pads like the originals and tend look boxy and a bit shapeless.

My 11th doctor purple frock was more of a smock to wear and has inaccurate colour lining and collar before i took it in and added better shoulder pads, it needed a lot of work to look like a form fitting frockcoat.

The Black velvet frockcoat sounds promising, however Abbyshot always over hype their Dr Who coats and have promised the world before. So, i am going to wait for a few customer reviews from a few discerning and honest cosplayers before i shell out for another very expensive coat.
      Good Luck.

This was always my favourite 12 Doctor jacket, and that variant of the outfit is amazing, especially with the hoodie! Can’t wait to get one!
