Class Series 1 Blu-ray

Available to order from www.amazon.co.uk

From the Universe of Doctor Who.

“Time has looked at your faces now. And time never forgets…”

It’s a new term at Coal Hill Academy, and students are preparing for their Autumn Prom. But when the school comes under attack from deadly monsters, four alienated students must form an unlikely alliance to defeat them.

Like all teenagers, these four Coal Hill School students have hidden secrets and desires. They are facing their own worst fears, navigating a life of friends, parents, school work, sex, sorrow – and possibly the end of existence. And this incursion is only the beginning…

Charlie, April, Ram and Tanya, under the watchful eye of Physics teacher Miss Quill, are now charged with a great responsibility by the mysterious alien known as The Doctor: protect Coal Hill and guard against the creatures of nightmare that want nothing more than to find a way through to Earth and take it for their own.

There were parts of Class I liked but I also wasnt very keen on it. I really don’t
like the cast they’ve got, bar Katherine Kelly.
I think it would have worked better if Kathrine Kelly as Miss Quill was the central character – so the whole premise of the show would be a teacher at Coal Hill who fights aliens etc.
Also wouldn’t have had the Shadow Kin in it as much as they were…it just felt all too contained and like it was playing safe.

I found class to be poorly handled in almost every way which is a real shame

I thought it was decent. Enjoyed elements of the show. Would have loved the Daleks to appear with the show being aimed at an older audience..it could have shown a more horrific side to them. Hated the opening theme…overall I probably just ended up wishing the show was Torchwood. I just couldn’t get on board with the relationships of the Teen characters. Maybe the show wasn’t aimed at me though!

I’m buying Class but as the normal DVD not Blu-Ray. Blu-Ray is just a money grabber.

Try purchasing an HDMI Cord, it makes all the difference… assuming you own an actual HD TV and a Blu-ray player. Your image should be a considerably better than SD. Example: I own FRINGE in SD and BLU-RAY… Anna Torv has cute little freckles when I watch her in HD,

Personally Disappointed with British Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV off-late.

Where US Shows like ‘Lucifer’, ‘Killjoys’, ‘Dark Matter’, ‘Supernatural’, ‘The Flash’ and ‘Supergirl’ seem to get better and better as their mythology expands, Brit shows seem to have taken a downward Spiral in 2016.

‘Red Dwarf XI’ I found myself only enjoying 2 of the Six Episodes (and even those 2 weren’t entirely as Classic as most Dwarf episodes), UKTV Gold’s ‘Marley’s Ghosts’ isn’t as Funny as the Adverts led me to believe (a shame as the premise was so interesting) and Class had a Great premiere, Episode 3 was a good Doctor Who-without-the-Doctor tale, but other than that a pretty Naff show that makes me wish they just came up with a continuation of either SJA or Torchwood.

Currently the Only saving grace for British based Sci-Fi/Fantasy is ‘Humans’ as series 2 has started off as strong as the last Season was.

Seriously BBC/UKTV, You did great Sci-Fi from 1963-2015 – What the Hell Happened?

Humans is down right Amazing! It’s like a Blade runner Concept set in not to far future before the world turns into a Dystopian Nightmare

Class doesn’t really do it for me. It all seems a bit soulless and unnecessary compared to Torchwood and SJA. They knew what they were and who they were aiming it at, and they were as much about joy and wonder as thrills and scares.
Peter Capaldi stole the show in episode one of Class of course, but it made the Doctor seem a very unsympathetic character.
Perhaps things will improve towards the end of the series but so far I’m disappointed. I get that they wanted a British Buffy. I just don’t get why.

I enjoyed both the episodes. It’s a mix of sarah jane and torchwood. I will buy it once cheaper.

A certain piece of music in episode one gave me the chills just like the old new who days.

I expect it’ll be in a standard case. I’m guessing it will only be 2 discs…. 3 at the most

    • Darby

      December 13th, 2016 - 3:33am

Why would it be a box set when its gonna be 2 discs? It’s not gonna get any kind of deluxe treatment – it’s an online only teen drama….not gonna be top of 2Entertains pile to work on. This will be a cheapo release.

In fact I still don’t have Series 9 on Blu-ray yet – that’s how bothered I am about that series…
