Anyone know if these super rares include a gold base?
As the base of the display brix cannot be gold as would be spotted (unless they only shipped in the 5 pack sets.

I got the super rare Captain Jack today, and it doesn’t come with any kind of gold base; just the gold leaflet. I was so shocked though! Not sure whether to keep it or try to sell it. I don’t like they seller fees on eBay though!

Captain Jack, I don’t see anything different to the regular version.
Crimson Horror, looks okay straight repaint.
Clara, I actually like this version better to the regular one with a blue shirt.
    Wooden Cyberman, looks good.
Eleventh Doctor, looks pretty cool even though Handles looks like a regular Cyberman’s head just thrown in.

Overall I don’t like these Super Rares and don’t even really want any of them, except for Clara because I prefer her outfit.

Also, shame the 11 has grey hair – older 11 didn’t have grey hair, not until he was ancient and then it was more white.

    • CB Doctor

      August 11th, 2014 - 8:48pm

It’s not that grey, but he does have grey hair in The Time of the Doctor although it was hard to notice.

    • Sam Richard Bentley

      August 11th, 2014 - 8:49pm

Eh, still – I feel it needs to be more brown. Obviously made it grey to emphasise that he is aged.

    • CB Doctor

      August 11th, 2014 - 9:05pm

Yeah. They used the same tone as the 2nd doctor aged.

    • Sam Richard Bentley

      August 12th, 2014 - 12:35am

Yes, but in the Two Doctors his hair WAS that colour. I mean, I understand why – I just like accuracy. Aha!

    • Destroyer of Worlds

      August 12th, 2014 - 2:17pm

Instead of doing another clara they should have done Victorian clara as the super rare and the main clara figure should be the TOTD outfit.

  • StetsonDoctor

    August 11th, 2014 - 8:36pm

What really annoys me is that that Doctor and Handles would’ve been so easy to feel if it weren’t in a DisplayBrix (I do love the Brix though). The irony is that I don’t suppose this figure would exsist without them because it would be TOO easy to find! 🙄 😡

This wave has a lot of good figures. My super rare favorites (in order) are:

    1st – Raggedy Doctor
    2nd – Wooden Cyberman
    3rd – 11th Doctor with Handles
    4th – Captain Jack Harkness

I hope they don’t continue with the super rare figures – it just annoys me when i like them.

Being in the US I will likely NEVER see these unless they come up on eBay. Even then, I’ll likely never own them. I don’t understand why they would drop the numbers so dramatically. First they make the War Doctor 1 per case (if that) and now they drop the super rates to 100 or less?

    • William Noetling

      August 12th, 2014 - 12:27am

The case breakdowns from those that have bought full cases in the other post. Also he is designated “rare” which means at most a case would have 2 each.

  • Drewsko

    August 11th, 2014 - 8:22pm

Darn, Character’s rarity preferences are annoying. It’s because of this I can’t get a Seventh Doctor figure with brown coat.

ANd look at those numbers! You had a better chance of finding Mr. Gold in the LEGO Collectible minifigures than these guys! I feel bad for anyone who really wanted Clara in her Time of the Doctor/Deep Breath costume.

I know. Characters lack of information makes me worried that they are going to cancel the brand.

      lots never got released

series 3 of armed forces and series 2 of deadly 60 were all shown as well as more monsters V zombies but none of it appeared

    • SAnthony1138

      August 11th, 2014 - 8:32pm

Honestly – I hope they cancel it and give it to Lego. None of this super rare nonsense. Consistent style, size, compatibility and actual sets as well.

    • Grey and Blue

      August 11th, 2014 - 9:50pm

Yeah! After this range if this is the end for character they should give the range to Lego. They are award winning and make really detailed printed figures. Capaldi’s wrinkles would look great. That’s the one flaw of this series his face looks too smooth. Lego’s stuff is proven and their sets are second to none. Imagine the tardis interior realised in the same sort of depth and detail of say the millennium falcon! I’m very happy to see CB continue but when they stop Lego should grab that!

    • booboo

      August 11th, 2014 - 9:51pm

i much prefer the CB figures over lego

Lego sets would be better though

    • the astronaut of death

      August 11th, 2014 - 9:54pm

I like lego better as they are much better to build

    • SAnthony1138

      August 11th, 2014 - 10:07pm

booboo, honestly, I loved the CB figures too. But the Display Brix made me get apprehensive, the case ratio made me uncomfortable (I mean really, ONE War Doctor per case?!) and then the super rares and shrinking heads were the last bit for me.

CB can’t do quality. Ever get a LEGO figure with no face print? I got a River Song like that.

    • Grey and Blue

      August 11th, 2014 - 10:32pm

I mean this capaldi is a custom lego figure and already it looks far more accurate facially and detail of the costume wise than the CB one: http://www.boxmash.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/LEGO-Doctors.png

Still I’m glad there are still CB as I can at least get John and Capaldi and complete the first cycle of doctors. Plus clara and the paternoster gang (Ish) and the new cybermen.

    • William Noetling

      August 11th, 2014 - 11:55pm

I like your site, though I’m really looking for a place to TRADE doubles for figures I need

    • CB Doctor

      August 12th, 2014 - 8:29am

I agree with booboo – I love the CB figures, but the sets can sometimes be poor.
SAnthony1138 – I know what your saying, but it is just the evolution of Character Building. Lego didn’t start off like how it is now, and I’m sure that CB will get better and better.

    • CB Doctor

      August 12th, 2014 - 8:32am

William Noetling – Thanks. I don’t think I will be looking to start trading anytime soon, but If the community grows, I might think about it.

    • SAnthony1138

      August 12th, 2014 - 8:34am

Actually, outside of printing techniques and the move to minifigures LEGO is exactly the same. The very first brick ever made is compatible with any brick you pick up today. The minifigures from 20 years ago are the exact same size, shape and design as the minifigures today. The heads didnt shrink, they didnt change proportion.

The same cannot be said for CB. Oh, and you can actually get information on release dates and upcoming product from LEGO. CB doesnt do that either.

    • Anonymous

      August 12th, 2014 - 1:03pm

In three years all the bricks and figures are all still compatible, nothing has changed there so that argument clearly isn’t true.

    • Rebel Time Lord

      August 13th, 2014 - 10:35am

I hope that capaldi Lego figure Is a prototype along with 6th,1st and war doctors

    • CB Doctor

      August 29th, 2014 - 11:18pm

SAnthony1138 – The bricks are compatible and always will be – they aren’t going to change. I was talking about the figures. The LEGO minifigures have been around for 36 years, while CB figures have been around for 3-4 years now. They are slowly getting better. For example, the detail in the new figures.

  • CB Doctor

    August 11th, 2014 - 8:17pm

The 11th Doctor is the first figure in the history of Character Building to include 2 accessories.
I also suppose this would make it easier to feel if they had continues using the packs.
