I hope sergeant Benton, captain Yates, and jo are very prominent parts of the story and not just used to sell the boxset.

The cover lets this down. Yates and Benton could have been better represented. Did they run out of time?

Katy Manning has been raving about this series at the Pandorica Convention in Bristol today. Apparently there is a very discussion between Osgood and Jo Grant involving Omega….

Am I the only one who thinks this is the last nail in the coffin for this series? It has suffered short running in box one, downright boring in box two to the extent I never got to the end. I’ve not bought box 3 (yet) and don’t think I want to.
Boxset 4 is just a repeat of ‘The Silurians’ and UNIT cd series 1 bringing back the previous inhabitants of this planet.
There are more exciting things in UNIT, why not bring back Kreiner, Arrowsmith, Malcolm, Bambera or the Vault team?

WHAT? Extinction was almost perfection as was shutdown. the Tengobushi are probably the best villian created by big finish and extinction was a perfection of the earth invasion story.

Bambera coming back is long overdue.

I really want bambera to come back, she is one of the only supporting characters I liked from the McCoy era.

Big Finish seem to be the only producers of Doctor Who who know what the fans want to see

Agreed. I’ll never understand how the BBC haven’t caught on to how many much-loved actors and characters are so eager to return that they’ll do the audio adventures. One of the best thing about the show is its recurring cast (with exceptions of the Paternoster gang anyway…) but Moffat seems to have forgotten that

Great to see John Levene back. His companion chronicle was really good.

I’m amazed that they’ve persuaded John Levene back on side.
This could bode well for future Third Doctor Adventures sets (although it may be that Levene is simply against the idea of doing Third Doctor stories without Jon Pertwee around – which seems understandable).
The main difficulty I would expect is how to do a Pertwee UNIT story without Nick Courtney as the Brig. Perhaps BF could come up with a period of a few months where he goes on a mission abroad, leaving the Doc, Jo, Benton and Yates behind…?

Good news, but has me worried the UNIT range will be limited to just four sets. I feel the same about Leela being in the fourth War Doctor set.
